We have multiple sources stating that Mitchell is indeed the latest transfer from Oklahoma State to Lamar. There are newspaper stories, twitter feeds, friends of this website with sources and even the Oklahoma State rivals board that have called the move official. I'd be floored if we don't get the word from Lamar soon but as we sit right now they are about the only ones who haven't come out to confirm this.

 

Yesterday when many had this thing called I spoke to a source at Lamar who told me that this deal wasn't official because they (at that time) hadn't even seen a transfer request or a transcript from Mitchell. We heard that Coach Woodard wasnt in town yesterday which would lead me to believe in this being true.

 

I've got some calls out and waiting to hear something from LU but haven't heard back yet. Again, with the people calling this done (especially on the oSu end) I'm willing to go ahead and say welcome to Beaumont Joe, we're just waiting for Lamar which could be at any time.

According to Robert Allen of Gopokes.com Joe Mitchell who yesterday was reported to have told the oSu staff he was transferring to Lamar is now reconsidering that decision. He cites "multiple sources."

 

I haven't spoken to anyone on this end today but will keep trying to get info.

Can anybody confirm if he visited LU? It kinda seems like everything has slowed down.

Im thinking it has come to a complete stop. Mitchell mustve reconsidered his decision.

There still hasn't been anything posted from the OSU sites since Robert Allen reported 2 days ago. Allen is usually pretty reliable and is usually the first to break news on OSU.

I was thinking he's not happy moving down to 3rd string. I think this is the depth chart after spring ball and that's when he decided to transfer. Hopefully we'll know soon what he decides to do.

My gut says he ends up in Beaumont around the time practices begin. I don't have concrete info saying its a done deal but I'm not getting denials either. I could be wrong but normally these sources shut it down in a hurry if the rumor isn't true. We'll all know soon enough.

Well if that is true, then how did your "source" say the visit go? Well? Do we think he is coming?

 

 

I was told that the visit went well and that they don't think that he has any other schools lined up at this time. Let's just say that I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one. He also said that Mitchell looks the part as well.

I guess we can't get them all. OSU had to do something to stop the bleeding. Sims was different but Okafor and Johnson transfered because they wanted to!
