Mike Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 this is Tyrann Mathieu in Lake Charles tonight according to a McNeese fan on twitter: http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q527/bigredinsider/mathieu.png Not 100% sold yet. Quote
LUSportsFan Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 You don't really believe that do you? You think KU would get rid of any young talented player from last years terrible defense for smoking in a non-smoking area? And the ensuing panic and run from the cops and altercation, yes, apparently so. Thats what the link indicates. Really a whole bunch of nothing, IMO. Besides, its not like SFA brought in 3-4 off casts. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, SFA 93 on anygivensaturday pumped up a bunch of transfers to SFA a couple of years ago. So I guess they are cast offs if they go to Lamar, but great if they go to SFA. I get it now. http://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?70192-New-Transfers-to-SFA Personally, I think its a win-win for a program and a transfer player that can match up. Maybe if SFA doesn't want transfer players with issues or players that want leave another program for personal reasons, they shouldn't have them on their team. I don't really think SFA feels like that since they, like Lamar, have several other "cast-offs" on their roster. Not including Collin Garrett, there are currently four transfers from FBS programs on SFA's official roster. Kind of supports my thought that it's ok to have transfers. Justin Isadore - TCU>SFA Willie Jefferson - Baylor>SFA Steven Cuninigan - AFA>SFA Trevor Murphey - CSU>SFA Quote
Cplatt Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 ESPN just reported that he will officially transfer to McNeese. Thats big for them, hes a ball player. Quote

That's pretty big for McNeese!! You can't (and actually use your brain) argue that if his head is on straight, they just got a lot better. Their return game alone will be the best in the conference. If he wants a big payday in the NFL after this season then he will have to play lights out. The championship race in the SLC just got a bit more interesting. Quote

I think this AM ESPN reported he's deciding between Jackson St, McNeese and Prarie View A&M. Two of the three are on the Cardinals schedule. Quote
coachacola Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Don't think it's official yet. Link: http://www.therepublic.com/view/story/32b92ecd948842beaf68479b913b0010/FBC--Mathieu-McNeese-St Quote
Redrain07 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Honestly I'd rather see him at Pv or Jackson state than playing for someone other than the cardinals. Quote
Cplatt Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Agreed, stay away from the SLC unless its us. Cplatt Quote
Mike Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Agreed, stay away from the SLC unless its us. Cplatt Two of his rumored three choices are on the Cardinals schedule so the odds are high they're gonna see him. If that's the case I say welcome to the SLC. It'll give the conference some mainstream media attention which could be beneficial. The players aren't scared they'll embrace the challenge. Quote

That could make the final game against them in Lake Charles a really fun game to watch, especially if Lamar is having a good year. Quote
coachacola Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Evil Mike Tomlin @EvilMikeTomlin Tyrann Mathieu says he's considering enrolling in McNeese St. because they "have a possibility of crossing the 50 yard line" Quote
Guest Hookem14 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Rumor has it that after his recent domestic violence charge, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson is strongly considering transferring to Lamar. Quote

Rumor has it that Mack Brown is upset that UT is no longer #1 in players getting in trouble with the law. 1 or 2 players a year getting busted just isn't cutting it. Quote

Guest Hookem14 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 No coach in college football does less with more talent than Mack year in and year out. Quote
coachacola Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 No coach in college football does less with more talent than Mack year in and year out. I live in Austin and my wife went to UT so I watch a lot of their games. I don't think anyone has ever accused Mack Brown of being a great coach. As long as he hires decent assistants, brings in the best talent, keeps player problems and scandals to a minimum, and wins around 10 games a year then most UT fans are happy. Basically Mack Brown is the CEO of UT Football Inc. and the value of that enterprise keeps going up every year. Quote

You are exactly right, the only problem is that he butts in to much with those assistant coaches that do know the X's and O's (because he does not) and doesn't allow them to do their jobs. If he would let the coaches coach and stay out of their way and just recruit and be that CEO, they would be much more successful. Quote
Guest bossman73 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 sounds like the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry world!!!!!LOL Quote
coach Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Lamar should have a great receiving core this year with Johnson. Maybe they can pick up Dez Bryant also. Quote
