coachacola Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Prairie View lost their opener to Texas Southern 44-41 in front of 22K at Reliant Stadium. Both teams had at least 500 total yards but I doubt these teams are considered offensive powerhouses. Lamar should be able to muster enough offense to beat Prairie View if they don't make silly mistakes. I consider this a must win game. Losing this game (or even struggling to win) would mean they are in a very long season, probably winning 3 games at the most. A big win would put them at 1-1, which is what everyone was expecting. If they struggle to win then I'll be very nervous about conference play. Quote

I still think you can squeak it out, but it'll be closer than you think PVAMU - 28 Lamar - 30 If Woodard does that stupid rotating QB nonsense, PVAMU wins PVAMU - 28 Lamar - 21 Quote
Dream Weaver Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 crawfish has it right, lu wins by at least 3 touchdowns. pvamu's defense will be just what the doctor ordered to get lu's offense on track. sims and soto won't be turning the ball over against these guys and moss will have a good game, no jitters for this game. That's assuming Moss even plays. Woodard needs to pick a guy and stick with him. You can't get in a rhythm for a game if you're constantly being rotated. Quote

jdcurran235 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I am not putting a guess down for this one. I just hope we win. I will be watching. Quote
austin badbyrd Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I believe LU will win. This should the boost of confidence game that is needed. Defense should be lights out, Sims and D-P should have good game. I watched part of the USC-Hawaii game and Hawaii got some speed, however this is Norm Chow's first year as a head coach and the team, like LU. hasn't gotten the offense down yet, Of course, USC will do that to anyone = They're a beast. Should provide good momentum to at least make a good showing. Just my take..... Quote
Mr.KnowItAll Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 If we have 5 turnovers and lose the kicking game as bad as Saturday we won't beat anyone on our schedule. Bottom line. We need to protect the ball. If we can do that I like our chances. I see this as a 27-21 win for the Cards. I think a lot closer than most expect. And every fan wins when we get to see the PV band! Guest WOS95 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 read an article that ray ray intends to rotate qbs throughout the game...why is it so hard to find one qb? Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 read an article that ray ray intends to rotate qbs throughout the game...why is it so hard to find one qb? Now that makes very little sense, as stated neither is a change of pace QB, we need receivers and our QB to develop chemistry. Seems like we want to shoot ourselves in the foot for this game. Quote

I believe I watched one of the preseason practice interviews or something and it talked about the only thing left for Moss to do was to develop chemistry together. He said that the previous years had guys playing together at JuCo, but Moss didn't know anyone. This doesn't exactly sound like a move in order to develop that chemistry Quote
LU1991 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I think I agree with Wooten :o We can't underestimate Priarie View A&M. If we do not move the ball offensively, we are going to be disappointed Saturday night. It’s time to pick a QB and build some continuity and leadership with the team. Quote
aretha11 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 The Keys to Winning isssssss Catch,Run,Hit we must have blocker's This is what we need to focus on. The QB and RB's,WR's must connect. Too many injuries to your teamates in practice to see none in the games. Quote
Guest LU 17 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 In the pro style offense, you have to establish the run. Our run has to set up our passing game. If we can establish the run, it will open up the pass. Freeze the backers, let the safety cheat up a bit and catch the ball. It sounded like TSU had no trouble scoring against PV. If there is a crucial time for us to get our offense going, it's this week. Let's get out and support our team! Quote

I don't expect this to be an easy victory at all. At this point, we are more like a SWAC team than an SLC team (and based on our enrollment data we are moving in the direction of a SWAC team). However, I don't agree with everyone about the rotating quarterbacks. If one guy doesn't clearly step ahead of the other then let them continue to rotate. I may be mistaken, but I don't recall anyone going out on a limb and saying one or the other should start? I think we win a close one: 24-23 Quote
