I'm not sure why it should be close. We beat PVAMU guys, lets tone down the expectations a bit.

I do agree that ULL might be better than Hawaii, but right now we just don't have enough info on Hawaii to say that. Hawaii was NOT a good team last year, now they have a new coach and new players. Maybe we play them close, but its still their house and their time zone were going into.

Lets just hope for improvement over last week. If we went the entire game without at TO I would call that an awesome game.

70-0 Hawaii

Still crying over losing to SMU 52-0? ;D

Actually if I was I'd say 125-2 Hawaii.

You guys couldn't score on ULL and gave up 40. Do you think Hawaii cannot do the same thing, if not worse?

There are lot of of reasons why Lamar should fare better against Hawaii then ULL:

1. The ULL game was the 1st under a new OC and DC. This will be the 3rd game.

2. ULL played in a bowl game last year beating MWC team SDSU. They had a lot of starters returning, especially on offense. Hawaii has a new coaching staff and not as many starters returning.

3. The Kelso at center experiment is over. Gillam is back at center with 310 pound Wempa on the O-line now.

4. Those TOs in the first game were partly a result of it being the first game of the season in a new system against a FBS team. Now they are more comfortable with the system and OC Kueck has a better feel for what they can do.

5. Woodard won't be rotating QBs in this game just for the heck of it. Moss is the starter.

6. ULL is arguably a better team than Hawaii. Most everyone here agrees that it's a long shot that Lamar will win but unless the team is suffering from jet lag and daydreaming about the beach, it should be a relatively close game.

I agree with your assessment coach. I think ULL is the better team and I don't think we will play as badly as we did against ULL in the first half of that game. I think the Cards will play well. I think we will continue to improve. I look for us to stay in the game if we don't turn the ball over. Hawaii wins 31-21.

I'm here in Hawaii for the game. Prediction is sunny with a touch of cool breeze...oops. I'm afraid that actually might be a factor. It's amazing here. Hopefully the boys can put a few touchdowns on the board and eek out a win 24-27.
