70-0 Hawaii

Still crying over losing to SMU 52-0? ;D

Actually if I was I'd say 125-2 Hawaii.

You guys couldn't score on ULL and gave up 40. Do you think Hawaii cannot do the same thing, if not worse?

SMU is not that strong of a program.

Neither is Louisiana Lafayette

Hey, guys, it's the third week of the season. Conference play hasn't even started yet. Let's not start measuring our wangs just yet.

Prediction:

LU 14

Hawaii 31

Being realistic it is too early yet for me to tell how much improved we really are and really how good Hawaii is so I am shooting in the dark. My hope is LU plays them a really close game (and wins of course but a 7 pt or less loss is a great improvement) but I just personally don't know enough to make a real educated prediction. So that said I am throwing out with my heart:

Hawaii 27

LU 21

There are lot of of reasons why Lamar should fare better against Hawaii then ULL:

1. The ULL game was the 1st under a new OC and DC. This will be the 3rd game.

2. ULL played in a bowl game last year beating MWC team SDSU. They had a lot of starters returning, especially on offense. Hawaii has a new coaching staff and not as many starters returning.

3. The Kelso at center experiment is over. Gillam is back at center with 310 pound Wempa on the O-line now.

4. Those TOs in the first game were partly a result of it being the first game of the season in a new system against a FBS team. Now they are more comfortable with the system and OC Kueck has a better feel for what they can do.

5. Woodard won't be rotating QBs in this game just for the heck of it. Moss is the starter.

6. ULL is arguably a better team than Hawaii. Most everyone here agrees that it's a long shot that Lamar will win but unless the team is suffering from jet lag and daydreaming about the beach, it should be a relatively close game.
