cardinal Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I have been saying this for the time he has been here, but I was called an idiot and all kinds of names now everyone wants to say what I have been saying!!! Unbelieveable!! lol I don't know if you have or not...but let's be honest, I think we did better in year one than most of us thought we would. Other than that...it is disgusting. I was thinking he should go last year but I felt I was probably being a little too impatient. No more!!! Get rid of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
LUFAN Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 I agree any one want to by 2 season tickets from me... Joking, I will still go but it is agitating. Now my wife doesn't want to come anymore cuz we are horrible... She says we are boring. She asked why so many short passes they don't work, then asked why we sucked at tackling.... Quote
cardinal Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I went to the game but left when the 3rd quarter ended, I had seen enough. I agree with everyone here. Offense sucks, special teams sucks, coaching sucks. At halftime they announced that Lamar had a total of about 110 yards offense, that's just pathetic. Team looked unprepared. I've been very patient and forgiving of Woodard up until now. Not anymore!! I see why nobody showed up, the weather just makes for a handy excuse. thank goodness the tailgating is fun.... Quote
puddin tane Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 "I liked where we were at halftime," said Woodard. ummmm.......losing? you are full of shit, Ray! Quote
jdcurran235 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Well he likes losing. Look at his record. Quote
jdcurran235 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Can we steal ULM's coach? we pay more. lol Quote
jdcurran235 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I never thought that I could ever be jealous of ULM, but alas Quote
LUFAN Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 We are getting jacked for over a half mil a year for our coaching salaries. We could get better bang for our buck.. Quote
cardinal Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Can we steal ULM's coach? we pay more. lol Do we really? Wow...we are getting took!! Quote
jdcurran235 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 ULM's coach makes 130K. Not sure what woodard is making. Quote

Guest LU 17 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 It's time, who is available. We have regressed, unless we play Langston every week. I think by week 6, they would start beating us. Quote

I like the Dan Hawkins suggestion. They ran a fun offense...not this boring crap we've got going. I never, ever thought I'd miss Dim Whitten but this is pathetic. Quote
puddin tane Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Ray said he was gonna switch to a "pro-style" offense...what he failed to mention was ...its the "pro style" of the 0-14 Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1976... Quote
psukis53 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I am brand new to the program due to my step brother being in his first year on the team. As a former NFL player, and as one who has been around football of of my life I have noticed a few things over the first 5 games. Lamar is an undersized and weak team. I have been to every game this season (Hawaii included) and as a player I was always aware of the personnel matchups. So I have a tenedency to do the same as I watch games. lamar looks like a High School team on the hoof, every team they have played this year looked better in warm-ups. Yesterday was no exception. I thought the OL was overpowered at the point of attack, Southeast was stronger at the perimeter in terms of offense, and they had better personnel. Now I also understand that this is the 3rd year of the program and I dont give a damn who you are, getting it done the way it needs to get done under 5 is damn near impossible at any level. But if I am the head coach i am looking at player development or whoever runs the weight program and I am getting that fixed. I met number 41 and I thought he was a DB, he said he was an outside linebacker. I did'nt mean to laugh in his face, but my wife's arms are bigger than his and this kid told me he was a junior. I thought he had a tapeworm he was so skinny. It just looks as if you guys are small and have a bad weight program. Quote
Guest LU 17 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I am sure our coaches have figured out we are undersized. Most of the coaching staff has NFL experience as players, and the coaches are bigger than our players. This is something that is a problem, but we recruit skinny players. We have no strength and that was something brought up before the season started. You must be new to the BRI because everything you have brought up was mentioned after our first blow out loss. On top of all this, our offense is bland. We have no identity, a few running plays up the middle and a few passes in the flats. Then a low punt and good return by the opposition. Welcome to LU football! Quote
lcard05 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 To be honest the kids love Woodard, i think he is having a hard time finding the right staff to help him..Our defense has improved with Bradley, our Oline is learning with Mcknight. On Mcknights defense we recruited quicker smaller mobile oline guys to run the spread and Kake is trying to run some ole school form of a pro-set. The offense is the problem. We are trying to play offense at 5yds at a time. we do not spread the field. All 11 defenders are damn near in the box. Herschel doesn't have a chance. That goes for Herschel Sims or Heschel Walker. No one is blocking 11 guys in a five yard area. I really think Woodard is gonna have to come down on Kake because Ray knows the overall product is his responsibility. If he does not get some offensive production you can be sure he will make a move to save his job. No defense can stay on the field for two reasons. Exhaustion and the longer another OC gets to see them on the field he can change his game plan around it... Before you english majors tear up my spelling or grammer just remember I don't give a &hit about it. i know how to spell our OC,s name. Just throwing out my 2 cents as an alumni.. Quote
BigRed98 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 This will sound like I'm trying to be goofy, but seriously, Petrino is still available. Quote
puddin tane Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I'm all for Petrino...my daughter has graduated... Quote
LAZEEK Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Some of you are more insane that I thought if you think that Petrino, Hawkins or anyone like that would ever come to Lamar!!!!!! Don't get me wrong I would love for either one to have an interest in LU, but it is NOT gonna happen!!!! Quote
puddin tane Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 LCcard 05 we recruited small lineman on purpose? we've recruited poorly...then, as soon as a transfer with size comes around, we sign em and dont develop the kids that are here.. Ray says we have "no downfield threat"...hmm..who recruited/signed the receivers? we have, what 10 of em, and none of em can run downfield? He is in over his head...punch the clock Ray and pick up your last check. Quote
Spooner Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 ULM's coach makes 130K. Not sure what woodard is making. Coach Woodard makes more, as shown here: http://www.texastribune.org/library/data/government-employee-salaries/search/?q=woodard&x=0&y=0 Quote
LAZEEK Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Woodard only got his raise because it was to match what Knight is making. IT states that in the contract or school bylaws that the football and basketball coach will make the same thing. Quite frankly I think that is stupid myself!!!!! Quote
coachacola Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 According to this article on May 9th, Woodard make $150,720, a little less than Pat Knight's $151,200. Private donations allowed Woodard to hire the new assistant coaches. Link: http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/sports/lamar/article/Lamar-increases-football-coach-staff-payroll-3546047.php Quote
QB 22 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Way too damn much money for his production!! Quote
