my old Aunt Sally can sit back and hand off to Flanders and Sam would be winning.

with Lamar's new "Watching Paint Dry" offense..he might start here..

Sam's a hell of a team with a mediocre qb...it is what it is

JJWooten..he's got class...nickels and the newb Sam_Kat------poster children for birth control

actually, he's 2nd in Pass Effiency..which means he throws a mean screen pass

lack of a real passing game doomed ya last year in the playoffs, will do it again this year

As a sophomore he made it the the NC leading the way and the team lost on couple of special teams plays. I think he has proven himself better than any Lamar QB ever has (he actually wins). Funny seeing playoff trash talk from a Lamar fan, a team which will never sniff the playoffs let alone get as many wins as Sam did last year.

You say you grew up around Beaumont. As bitter as your posts are, you must have been unmercifully picked on while you lived here so you now want to come on here and downgrade the area and LU.

btw..Woot...I miss dim Whitten....aint that something? this offense suckkkkkks

We were happy to get rid of him, I never would have guessed there's an OC out there WORSE than him!

don't know if its the OC or Ray demanding run run run...I'm leaning towards Ray, the OC set offensive records just about everywhere he's been

I think we're not giving the players who graduated enough credit. I think the QBs and WRs we had last year had the talent to make the big play and score and that's what is missing this year. Last year the QBs were always scrambling and by the time the season ended we were down to Berry, the 4th string QB playing with a broken leg.

Another thing is that both SELA and Nicholls are better this year. SELA's defense was really terrible last year, worst than Lamar's, but it's not nearly as bad this year, as evidenced by their 3-0 start in conference.

I think it's just taking time for all the new players to gel as a unit. Look at all the new starters Lamar has on offense. Add to that a new OC running a more complicated offense and it's been painful to watch at times. I think the team is missing having a NFL-caliber receiver (Marcus Jackson) along with JJ Hayes and it's showing. I doubt they are running the ball just to prove a point, but because the big pass play just isn't there.

i don't like shsu but i can't see how lu can win this one so i'm going with 35-17. hopefully shsu doesn't cause a lot of fumbles or it could be worse. call me crazy but i like the cards chances next week against sfa

The Bearkats have thrown very few screen passes this year. In the games I have been to and seen this season they haven't run the play all that often if at all that I recall. Bell throws down field. True, he doesn't throw it down field the way SFA does, but its typically not a dink and dunk passing game. If a team tries to put eight in the box to stuff the run. Brian Bell is more than capable of taking advantage of the match up and getting the ball into the hands of his receivers.

A lack of a passing game is not what doomed SHSU in the National championship last year. Neither team did anything on offense the entire game. With the way NDSU played defense I doubt a passing game would have done a whole lot anyways.

Dream Weaver,

Please do tell me why you think Lamar has a chance against SFA (granted every team has a chance..it's usually low)

This isn't meant as smack. I'm interested.

My answer is no. Our defense might keep us in the game but we will not be able to score. Our lack of ability to score points will cause us to fall very short.

Wake up jdcurran. We have the ablility to score and we've been doing it!!!!!

I think Dream Weaver jumped the gun, let's worry about SHSU first. I think the offense is slowly improving but it's still a work on progress. Good thing the defense is a lot better or we'd be seeing some ugly scores (not that the ULL and Hawaii games were pretty).

I can believe that Nickles thinks we will never make the playoffs but Never say never. Look I grew up in East Texas my entire life and if you think your special because you went to SFA think again. I understand your bitter that you got beat up and teased while in school in the area but it will be okay. LET it go and when Lamar makes the playoffs you will lose what little bit of creditability your pathetic existence has left. As for the game I hate to say it but after watching SHSU play they are for real. They scared me to death when I watched the Baylor game in Waco granted our defense is better than Baylor's right now but they have a solid ground attack to say the least and the big receiver is impressive as well.

35 Sam

10 LU

Yep we can score? Last years 5th string QB is now the 1st string QB and our OC ties his hands so he can only hand off>>>>>

Read the writing on the wall their gonna make Berry the fall guy, What were the quotes ...if our QB would have played better we win. Short passes, hand offs, read options...and we ran Jeremy Johnson off?? Some of those QB draws that Moss and Berry have done JJ would have scored on. How can they really play for coaches that quit on them last week?

I'll take the qb's we have..they wanna be here and

a-can throw a spiral (trust me RayRay..they can)

and

b-can take a hit

JJ ran himself off---btw--he has no stats at blinn...he even playing there?

Well jdcurran, if you haven't "seen" any of the last 3 games then why are you commenting on the offense. If you have "seen" the games then what are you looking at.

And as for lcard05, why are you commenting on the coaches quitting on them? You and several others quit on them a long time ago.

Very sad for someone who claims " lcard " and can't be any more loyal and supportive than you are.

our offense is up to 110th in the nation !!! (outta 121 teams)

I'm dreaming of a Woodard-less Christmas

Who's ranking? Massey has the offense rated 81st (which is still bad), but the defense is rated 43rd. Last year the offense was rated 73rd (not much better) and the defense was almost dead last at 121!

If you are going to blame Woodard for the offense then you have to give him credit for the big turnaround of the defense.
