Lamar's Ray Woodard announced RB Herschel Sims has left the program. Sims will finish semester at LU and transfer. Watch #kfdmsports at 6.

Nick Canizales@NickCanizales Sims told Coach Woodard about an hour ago that he intends to transfer to another school #SouthlandStrong

I'm not that disappointed in the news. I like the freshmen Harris and Richards. Why does Sims average less per carry than the others?

Garrett, DePaul 7 80 358 14 344 4.3 2 35 49.1

OK guys we can't bash him. The kid had 30 legit D1 offers out of high school. As you may notice as soon as his issues were clear some of those guys came back calling. If the D1's are still after him it's for a good reason. No one has really flurished in our offense. No one will run the ball well when every defense knows we are not going down the field and has damn near 10 in the box...Good Luck Herschel!

At the end of the day he is just a kid trying to make it somewhere...I'll give him my best.

and another damn thing....enough with the fricking transfers with baggage

we waste a hell of alot of time with these fricking transfers, just to have em leave after a year....and we piss on the kids that were here before the "chosen" ones arrive

sign kids that WANT to play for LU..not washouts and criminals from other schools

Screw him. We shouldn't even have given the little thug a scholarship offer in the first place. And, he isn't very good.

No big deal. I think the 2 fresmen are better anyway. Need to work on making sure they stick it out. I think they have a bright future, and are good people too.

And I agree with this too! From what I've seen, Sims is the 4th or 5th best running back we have.

Lamar's coaching staff needs to put a better effin product on the field, then we won't have to worry as much about players jumpin ship before it hits rock bottom. The beautiful thing about America is that this is the land on opportunity, and that kid has decided to take his talents elsewhere.

Talents? Oh, ok...that's right..talents like being a quitter and talents like fraud/theft. boo hoo hoo...hate to see him leave.

Listen guys I'm just as mad as any of you that he left but we look bad handling it this way. Lamar wasn't for him and that's his problem let's hope that we see a change in the way the staff recruits and accepts transfers.
