I am not here to defend or take up for anyone, but honestly if you put Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson in the LU back field then they would not have good numbers. Give us a decent offensive line, and we all would agree that the numbers would be up. Sims was the most talented back at LU this year. And nobody should disagree with that. I also think that the two Freshman will be much more successful next season.

Maybe so but I do not remember getting a glimpse of ANYTHING about the guy's ability to make me think he was special or worth the hype. I kept waiting for it but it never came. If we got anything out of him being here, it motivated DPG to work a little harder. Other than that... all I saw was a youtube video of a long touchdown run during trash time of a bowl game.

Unless he gets his shit together, based on what he has shown us (character, work ethic), I predict he will be a bust wherever he ends up. Again...

Good riddance.

pretty sure he didnt even play in the bowl game...and it went to overtime so there wouldn't be any "trash time"

Correction...it was the one long run he had vs Baylor when they were up 49-10 in the 4th.

According to the official OSU site, he had two 100+ yards games last year (Baylor 104 yds and Texas Tech 111 yds). He had an 81 yard TD run against Baylor at the start of the 4th quarter and a 56 yard run against Texas Tech midway in the 4th quarter.

Probably best for him to leave if he wouldn't be happy here. Wishing him the best in the future. I'm ready to move on to players who want to stay.

You've officially lost your damn mind. Those two could score td's with no offensive linemen!

My source tells me that Sims walked into Ray's office and said, "I really did not want to be here, don't like it here so I am leaving and moving up." Said that his high school running back coach is shopping him to bigger schools as we speak. Sims never said thank you, good luck or anything.

I heard he took a dump on the Lamar logo and then laughed.

C'mon now. No one by Sims and Woodard knows what was said in that office.

I know this thread is about Hershal but it seems to have shifted over to KJ...that being said, I dont understand how people dont think KJ is our best offensive weapon...lets just look at the numbers...here is the breakdown of our offensive TD leaders

Kevin Johnson - 10 (9 recieving and 1 rushing)

Depauldrick Garrett - 2

Hershal Sims - 2

Payden McVey - 2

Caleb Berry - 1

Darrell Harris - 1

Jordan Edwards - 1

He has more offensive TDs than the rest of the team combined! And add in his 2 KR TDs against our 3 defensive TDs...he has accounted for half of the teams TOTAL TDs

Don't get me wrong Kevin can catch and can run. However, doesn't do a lot of blocking for others getting the ball! As for the most TDs go back and think about which players got the ball in the position to score. I have said all along that Woodard was feeding him the ball at the in zone to run up his TD count!

SORRY....but I'm with KABro. KJ is BY FAR our most powerful offensive weapon. He is a little inconsistent but he is best athlete that we have on our roster. He's still young and his best football is still ahead of him. '

Is KJ a team player? Is he loyal to LU? Does he congratulate other team mates on good plays? Those along with talent is what makes a great player in my book.

If KJ tried blocking even just a little for his team mates once in a while when they got the ball, he would get to congratulate them a lot more often!

Sorry. I thought we were talking about offensive weapons, not best teammate.

Excellent point on blocking. Saw one of the best examples of play extending blocks I've seen in a long time in a game I watched today. Watch from the :30 point on the "Texas A&M deals Mississippi State 2nd Straight Loss" video on the link below.

Manziel scrambling, 1st Christian Michael makes a freeing block, and then Ryan Swope makes a clock cleaning block. (Michael gets rewarded with the touchdown on the next play.)

Love to see that kind of play by backs and wide receivers regardless of the team.
