badndn
It all starts and ends with any tandem that Oliver was a part of. End of discussion. For those that didn't get to see him play won't completely understand, but his records and his teams records stand for themselves.

Guest Cardinalrule
Olliver and whoever..not even close...wish they'd a had 3 pointers with him... Oh, I wouldn't say it isn't even close. Sewell and Robinson were incredible. Where is Alvin Brooks? But, it is hard to argue that Oliver and bellard aren't the best

Guest Cardinalrule
Points-------------------Olliver-2518 , sewell 1496 Feild goals------------- Olliver 1130, sewell 627 Oliver-1st all time in steals and games played, 5th all time in assists Sewell played 2 years. Double his stats and you get damn near 3000 points and a little over 1250 field goals. Just because you play a lot of games doesn't make you great

For those that didn't get to see him play won't completely understand, but his records and his teams records stand for themselves. How many points would Mike have scored if there was a three point shot? 3000? And he could completely take over a game. I remember a game in McDonald gym (against La Tech, I think) where they were double and triple teaming him, denying him the ball. Tubbs had him go just stand by the scorers table, while the rest of the team played 4 on 3. LU won 120-80. Damndest thing I ever saw.
coachacola
The 1980-81 team had Alvin Brooks and Mike Oliver starting with Terry Long coming off the bench. Terry Long averaged 10 points a game but I think most of his shots would be 3-pointers today. This team beat Missouri in the first round of the NCAA tourney. Mike Oliver 22.3 ppg Alvin Brooks 11.7 ppg Terry Long 10.0 ppg http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/lamar/1981.html
