  1. The way we are playing, if things don’t change, I can see us 6th or 7th in conference.
  2. Our offense was terrible and our defense was horrible. Oh…and our special teams was awful.
  3. Central Ark 38 LU 13
  4. 1). I guess we have a vastly different view of what being selective is. I know LU graduation rates are low and I know student involvement at sporting events is virtually non-existent. And I do know the entrance requirements are very low. 2). The university used to own 3 or 4 frat houses, and one of the firms was used as housing for sororities. They students/member just paid rent like any other campus housing. However, McLaughlin and Franklin (1980’s administration) hated Greek/social organizations and essentially ran them off campus. Driving range area? Somewhere else off of Cardinal drive? Buy off other property owners around campus?
  5. Uggh, the WAC conference was a HORRIBLE idea and would never have worked. Well, maybe if we hired Nick Saban but that’s about the only way. We can’t even consistently win/draw more than 6k fans now and we start with the FBS nonsense? There’s a saying “bloom where you are planted. Maybe we should try to bloom first.
  6. I agree. I am VERY disappointed with our coaching. We are so frigging passive and undisciplined (on both sides of the ball). It’s like “is anyone actually coaching this team”??!!!???!!!
  7. This looks like the same garbage we dealt with under Morgan and Dulz. Why the frick can’t we find a damn coach that knows how to coach offense?!!!! We are going to get stomped in conference. Man, I didn’t appreciate great we had it when Woodard was here!! I don’t care what our record is. We’ve taken a giant step backwards from last year. I am disgusted with this boring, awful, undisciplined, one dImensional GARBAGE!!!
  8. Well, for now, I’m perfectly fine with where we are as far as in the SLC. Until we prove that we can win consistently and draw more fans, we should stay put. What Lamar REALLY needs will never happen: 1) Much stricter enrollment requirements to attract overall better quality students. (Look at our dropout rate. We’ve almost become “if you can breathe we will take your money” for enrollment.) 2) Buy up as much of the surrounding property as possible and convert it to “college student friendly” investment. Like some fraternity/sorority houses. Some restaurants, sports grill, dance hall, something, idk what. Nice, college student only apartments/condos. 3). Plow down Provost Umphrey and rebuild it somewhere around there where it’s not sitting on top of a refinery. (I have nothing against refineries but, especially in this tree hugging age we live in, it’s not the best “look”.) 4) Require freshman to live on campus (except for locals who want to live at home for financial reasons.) 5) A LOT more scholarship money to attract high performing students.
  9. From watching the game, my guess is 99% because of injury.
  10. I also don’t get what the issue has been with Coleman. After last year (highest completion % in the SLC), I was expecting him to have a great year. He has a ton of talent and is clearly a competitor. Hopefully he’s healthy and will get it together the rest of the season.
  11. Not understandable? Or did you mean understandable? Idk, I suppose it’s possible that their kicker isn’t very good. Just seems to me, in that situation, we played “not to lose” rather than playing to win. (But, it’s easy to second guess…and we did win.)
  12. I think it’s largely a play calling problem. Followed by poor pass blocking and poor execution (either dropped passes, inaccurate passes, or penalties). The good thing is we got a really big win and we have a LOT of room for improvement.
  13. Uggh, our last offensive series was another example of our horrible play calling. I was in complete shock that we didn’t really even try to get a first down.
  14. I didn’t mind the fact that we went for it on 4th and one basically at their goal line even though a field goal would have put us up 4. What I did mind was the play call. We used ZERO deception on the play. We lined up in a double tight end run formation and ran it basically like everyone was expecting us to do. I was hoping for some sort of play action with a run/pass option for Longino. We were very lucky that this screw up didn’t cost us the game.
  15. Wow, what a wild game. We totally dominated the first half and then didn’t do much the second half. I think we clearly were the better team but our offensive play calling was awful. Some pretty big coaching blunders and our pass blocking continues to be terrible.
  16. Test
