I've always been for hiring young hungry coaches at Lamar but Haverty has no coordinator experience, played offense in college and was fired during the season by a former teammate from his alma-mater. This would be an interesting hire to say the least. Promoting Criner would've made more sense.

A defensive coach from Tech? Shit
*a fired defensive coach from Tech
-
Since he went down we've struggled offensively (besides Kade doing his thing obviously). If he has a legit shoulder injury then I understand but if not its nuts that he hasn't been on the field as the starter.
-
Two things to say: How do you beat Sam and lose to Nicholls in the same year? And why is that we never get better as the year goes along?
The first part can be answered by the last part this year.
-
We'd be 2-7 with some ugly losses.
-
Is the excuse "we're young" or has this defense slowly gone down the drain since Bradley retired?
-
Is it acceptable on any level for us to lose to Nicholls State in football? Especially at home on homecoming?? It's the equivalent to UT being shutout at Iowa State last week which should be enough to have Charlie Strong fired in Austin. We seem to be a 1 step forward....3 step backward program under Woodard and the question remains how much longer do we ride it out?

well it sounds like hes really wanting to come here and would be a commit if offered. Id hate to see him at another SLC school playing well in future years. How does he compare with Harrington size wise coming out of high school?
-
He had another great game last night vs Vidor with around 160 yards rushing. He's not the biggest kid but neither is Kade Harrington and I think he'd excel in our offense. I love to watch him run and think he's plenty good enough to play at the next level. Does anyone know if hes been offered a scholarship to play here or anywhere else?

Besides the obvious and unlikely shock the sports world win, what would you consider a successful outcome (not collecting the check) for the Cardinals in this match up with Baylor?

lets make it legit:
Fried Bacon=W
Baylor= L
Sam Houston St= L
SELA= L
ACU= W
NWST= W
UCA= L
HBU=W
Nicholls= W
IWU= W
McNeese= W
7-4. We catch a tough break with a difficult early SLC schedule breaking in a new QB but things will settle down after the Baylor blowout and early rough SLC matchups.

Last week i felt confident but after being swept by the lowly Texas Rangers and having a pathetic road record this year, I'm pretty sure they're toast.

Whats the difference between this and other other one? I can't remember what the old football logo looked like.

Yes. Sam caused the multiple drive ending drops, the whiff on what would've been a 70 yd TD pass to open the 3rd that would've got us to within 2, the dropped snaps and overall sloppy ass play. Sure. They get credit for forcing turnovers and y'all are a decent team, but we played like dog shit.
