JJWooten Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I'm looking forward to the football season but I really wish they would get the Div II and NAIA schools off the schedule. For those who are bitching about today's game vs OSPU look at who Baylor is playing today. Seriously, can anyone identify who and where the Wofford Terriers come from? So Lamar is favored to win it's home opener and as LUSportsFan pointed out, Lamar is not the only conference team to have Div-II and NAIA school on their schedule. Join me at the stadium tonight to root our Cards on to victory! This is an extremely ignorant post and it just shows that you spend zero time learning what other teams are even in your division. It would be like OSU thinking Lamar is a DII team because they've never heard of them. Quote

Mike Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 For you guys that got to go to the game, do you see improvement from last year? I said I during our pregame show, LU needed a game like this. They'd beaten OPSU regardless but a 35-14ish sloppy, penalty/turnover filled game would've been almost as bad as a loss. This team played a crisp game. Limited the turnovers & penalties and played solid football on both sides. Besides a 7 min stretch in the 1st half the offense moved the ball at will. They've shown a comfort level at the practices I've attended and it translated to the field tonight. As coach Kueck told me at halftime: "it's a good group of kids" We'll see how it translates versus a much superior opponent next week but tonight is exactly what that group needed vs OPSU. Quote
Mike Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 liked the up tempo offense The QB does get rid of the ball very quickly on every play. Quote

I hadn't thought about that but maybe. He put a couple through the endzone but most of his knockoffs had a lot of air under them. Quote
dirtybird Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 1st string Offense line did a heck of a job tonight. I was impressed with how sharp Lamar looked as a team, Quote
Guest Cardinalrule Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 No huddle the whole game....excellent. Short passes, long passes, runs, used the tight end, o line looked good. All in all I was extremely pleased. The west orange transfer appears to be very fast, maybe will giveu s a legitimate deep threat? And you HAVE to love Harrington! I dont care if he is 4' 9" or not, htat boy can play!!! Quote
