Tech's secondary is very talented they just lack experience. This will be a battle to watch for sure. Lamar lost big last year to both ULL and Hawaii. Does La Tech see this as an easy win? It is a bit of a rebuilding year. Its defense from a year ago can't get much worse so they hope they aren't rebuilding there. Tech has lots of experience in the receiving corps and one of the best running backs in the country in Kenneth Dixon so it's hard to call it a rebuilding year with as many pieces as they have. They just need to click. Easy is a relative term. I think it could be close in the first half but I think Tech's depth ultimately wins the game. The philosophy hasn't changed much. They hired Tony Petersen from Marshall who had the no. 1 pass offense in America last year. Expectations aren't low but I don't know if they consider him an upgrade or downgrade. Once a program experiences success that will always be their expectations. I think the running game versus the Lamar defense will be somewhere Tech can have success. If JUCO transfer Eddie Johnson is back from injury Saturday he'll be a matchup issue at inside receiver since he is 6-3 230 and runs well. I'll be surprised if the Lamar OL can handle the Tech DL the entire game, they are big and experienced. When you talk about confidence around Ruston, I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean the fan base, most feel Tech won't have much trouble with Lamar.
