Any one know the last time LU had the Freshman of the Year?

 

Surprised Berry didn't make All-SLC 1st or 2nd team..

I know we had the Freshman of the year and the honor was deserved, but no other players on the first team offense?

I support our players as much as anyone, but it is extremely rare for a player on a lower half of the standings team to make first team period. Congrats to the players that got honors, next year if the program continues to improve perhaps we will see even more all conference selections.

Do they vote on conference only performance or from what the player had done all season...cause Flanders was 8th in rushing for conference only games...

Tim Flanders made 1st team RB along with McNeese RB Marcus Wiltz. Flanders is a 4 time first team pick at RB. He is a 2 time player of the year selection as well. I believe he made 1st team this year solely on reputation.

Brian Brennon the QB from SELA was player of the year this year. IMHO, he truly deserved the pick. By the way, he will be back with the Lions next year. This is not good for the rest of the SLC teams.

That's kinda what I was thinkin...he was actually 6th out of RBs in rushing for conference games (2 QBs ahead of him)...also think Brian Bell got 2nd team for what he's done in previous seasons as well...but how in the world can there be 4 honorable mentions for QB?...that means 6 of the 8 teams were recognized at that position...
