How long has it been since the UH program was really good? That said, UH probably will have more money to spend on players and that might make a difference in what Davis can do there. I hope Lamar can announce a coach quickly as there isn't a lot of time to recruit players, although I guess you don't really have to have players in school until January.

The Davis era is officially over as Lamar gives up nineteen runs to USC. Cards did manage to score six.

2027 is likely to be a really ugly year. Trying to fill all of the voids in players and coaches in the little time available won't be easy.

Looked at the current roster list this evening and of the transfer players and incoming freshman that don't have pictures there are nine or ten FBS players. That does not mean they are better than those already on the team, but it should at a minimum represent experienced depth.

Hadn't looked at the roster lately. Reviewed after this last post and I will say it appears to light on D1 experience but overall it has good size. Three players 6-9 and taller and none shorter than 6-1. Twelve now on the roster.

Cards win game two by a score of 2-1. Olivier pitches eight full innings giving up one run. Carpio closes out the ninth. Cards are head to the NCAA Tournament.

Cards pull off the bracket comeback defeating SFA the last two games to win the bracket and will now host McNeese for the championship series as the Cowboys defeated SLU Sunday afternoon. The series will start this coming Thursday.

Cards pull out a win in their second game of the tourney and will play the loser of the evening game today, tomorrow at 1 PM. Olivier gets the win.

Will Lamar go 0 for two and out at the conference tournament again?

Has anyone heard anything about Olivier? He had a couple of less than usual starts including a three innings pitched loss to Oregon State and a five innings pitched loss to Nicholls and then did not pitch at all this past weekend.

Cards locked up the second seek with a game left and Davis parks his starters treating today more like a midweek that doesn't matter, dropping the final game. Personally, I never like giving a game away.

Roster has been updated in the last day or two and now shows seven new players and one red shirt freshman (Sanders) as the only holdover from last year.

Tough loss in game one. Smith pitches nine scoreless innings before giving up the loan run to McNeese in the bottom of the tenth.

Is it reasonable to think that the six guys still listed on the roster from last year are returning as they have added these four new ones to the roster list. Three of the six re-shirted last year.

Cards will take on McNeese starting on Thursday for the tournament championship. Lamar defeated SLU twice to get to the championship round. McNeese swept Lamar on the opening week of the regular season, so we will see if Lamar improved enough over the course of the season to earn a trip to the NCAA.

Lamar falters on the next to last weekend and now will need help as well as sweeping HCU next week get the regular season championship and guarantee themselves the second seed for the conference tournament.

I've been looking at various sites and have still only found references to three Cardinal players in the portal. The three listed in 24/7 portal tracking are East, Lowe and Lee. If there are other players in the portal can anyone provide any information. Lee and East have destinations, Lowe doesn't at this point.
