KABrother88 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/072414aaa.html KJ named to the watch list for the award he won last season. he's received a lot of flak on this site the last 2 seasons for his lack of effort when he knew the ball wasn't coming his way but I think by him moving to Safety he's showing that he'll do whatever it takes to get on the field. Personally still wish he was playing WR because he is so dynamic with the ball but Safety may be a better fit for the team at this point since we lost so much there from last year...and he showed against SFA last year his hands can be a valuable weapon. coachacola Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Momentum continues to build for the Lamar Cardinals football team despite the fact that the team doesn't officially report to preseason camp until Sunday. Senior return specialist Kevin Johnson landed another preseason All-America honor to add to his growing list of credentials Friday morning. Johnson has been named College Sports Madness (CSM) Preseason All-America announced CSM Director of Business Operations. Johnson is a second-team selection. Named to the Beyond Sports Network Preseason All-America team last month, Johnson has been busy racking up plenty of preseason hype in the days leading up to the opening of camp. Adding to the momentum that started last season when he was named 2013 CFPA Punt Returner of the Year, Johnson has been named to several award watch lists as he prepares for his final season in a Cardinals uniform. http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/080114aaa.html Quote

LU Cardinal Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 And neither can most of the LU fan base... I 1000% agree but I also think he has a chance to be something special at safety. He didnt seem to mind hitting anyone last year when playing defense. Woodard said he thinks KJ actually had a better shot of making it to the next level at safety versus wide receiver. I also think WR is the deepest position on the team so we could use him at safety. Quote
