Cards should've beat McNeese last year. Quote

KABrother88 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 My prediction is close to my Bold Prediction post with one slight adjustment to meet my SLC prediction 08/30 vs Grambling State - W 09/06 at Texas A&M - L 09/13 vs Texas College - W 09/20 vs Mississippi College - W 09/27 vs Sam Houston State - L 10/04 at Abilene Christian - W 10/11 vs Southeastern Louisiana - L 10/18 at Nicholls State - W 11/01 vs Houston Baptist - W 11/08 at Central Arkansas - W 11/15 vs Incarnate Word - W 11/22 at McNeese State - L Realistic prediction is 8-4 (5-3)...that being said the SHSU and the UCA games could go either way...to me those 2 games will define this season and ultimately decide Woodard's future (barring an upset against SELA and MSU). If we lose all 4 of those games Woodard will be in jeapordy of not having his contract renewed...only beating Nicholls and the 3 newbies in conference shouldn't be acceptable Quote
LetItGo Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 08/30 vs Grambling State- W- This is a win, guy. Grambling doesn't have the fire power to match Lamar's offense. 09/06 at Texas A&M - L - I'm putting this down as a loss but I'm not kidding, gang. They have a shot at this one. they really do. Aggy will be working out a new QB and a terrible Defense. 09/13 vs Texas College - W - This is a win, team. I don't even know who Texas College is. Are they located at Crystal Beach? 09/20 vs Mississippi College- W - Lamar is rolling now. 09/27 vs Sam Houston State- L - Hold up. This is a buzz saw team. The Kats are too good. 10/04 at Abilene Christian - W - Back in the saddle. It's a W. 10/11 vs Southeastern Louisiana- L- Going to lose this one. Why? because everyone else said so. 10/18 at Nicholls State- W- We got this. Go Cards. 11/01 vs Houston Baptist - W - I mean, come on. 11/08 at Central Arkansas -L- Purple and Silver field is going to be hard to deal with. Makes the Cards dizzy. Get out of here 11/15 vs Incarnate Word - W - No contest, team 11/22 at McNeese State-L- Cowboys are too strong and a Home crowd will pump the Lake Charles crowd up, gang. I've got 7-5 with a Cotton Bowl win against Notre Dame. just kidding. I have no idea. Quote
LUFAN Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 08/30 vs Grambling State W the train wreck continues. 09/06 at Texas A&M L 09/13 vs Texas College W 09/20 vs Mississippi College W 09/27 vs Sam Houston State W the buzz saw is no more.. Back to where they belong.. In the crap house. 10/04 at Abilene Christian W 10/11 vs Southeastern Louisiana L 10/18 at Nicholls State W 11/01 vs Houston Baptist W 11/08 at Central Arkansas W pay back from last year. 11/15 vs Incarnate Word W 11/22 at McNeese State W I think we win this game... I am picking us to go 10-2. I think we have the depth this year to really win some games... Quote
Adams Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 08/30 vs Grambling State- I'll give the Cards a win here. W 09/06 at Texas A&M - Texas A&M is going to have some growing pains and likely go 6 and 6 but a win here is likely for the Ags. L 09/13 vs Texas College - I'm not sure if they're in Crystal Beach like Hey Guy suggests but they aren't winning this one. W 09/20 vs Mississippi College- W 09/27 vs Sam Houston State - May be a few more years before LU passes these guys. - L 10/04 at Abilene Christian - Should be fairly easy - W 10/11 vs Southeastern Louisiana - Tough team. -L 10/18 at Nicholls State- Lamar gets a road win - W 11/01 vs Houston Baptist - Should be easy - W 11/08 at Central Arkansas - Tough road game. Weird field - L 11/15 vs Incarnate Word - Another easy one - W 11/22 at McNeese State- Tough road game again. Tough loss but close - L 7 and 5 record seems about right. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I am not going to do the pick the actual game thing, but I would say that 8-4 would be my least amount of wins to be happy with the direction we are going, I would be ecstatic with 9-3 or better!! Quote
dirtybird Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 8 wins 4 losses. Lamar beats Sam this year. Quote
Big T Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Call me crazy, but I see 10-2 and a second place finish to SELA. I think with the offensive talent and the defensive speed, yes they need to learn to play together, is almost second to none. We almost beat UCA, Sam, and McNeese last year. I say we do it this year. Quote
coachacola Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Less than 7 wins and Woodard is gone. 8 wins is very doable unless they blow some close games. 9+ wins if they have a magical season. 7 wins is the most likely outcome. Quote
puddin tane Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 08/30 vs Grambling State W 09/06 at Texas A&M L 09/13 vs Texas College W 09/20 vs Mississippi College W 09/27 vs Sam Houston State W 10/04 at Abilene Christian W 10/11 vs Southeastern Louisiana L 10/18 at Nicholls State W 11/01 vs Houston Baptist W 11/08 at Central Arkansas L 11/15 vs Incarnate Word W 11/22 at McNeese State L Quote
CS Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Predicting anything better than 7-5 is idiotic at this point. Lamar isn't getting the top recruits, the defense is shaky at best and can't cover the DB's from an old folks home, and the offense is just decent. Recruiting has to get better. Quote
lu cards Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 lamar will go 8-4 unless injury bug gets us.recruiting has gotten a lot better.still has a ways to go but were getting there. Quote
coachacola Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I think if LU struggles against Grambling then it's going to be a long season. Grambling was terrible last year so they have a new coach and are rebuilding. If LU only beats them by a touchdown or two then I predict another 5 win season. Quote
LamarKA1865 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 This schedule is built for 7-5. I would hope for 8-4, anything less means we likely lose to gramling, Nicholls or one of the three newcomers. So 8-4, anything less have to strongly considering letting Woodard walk Quote
LU17 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 CS what DB's and which old folks home are you speaking of? Let's see them play before before we start making such critical comparisons. Quote
Twin Daddy Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Let's see how bad I look at the end of the year... :) 08/30 vs Grambling State -- Win by 21 09/06 at Texas A&M -- Loss by 42 09/13 vs Texas College -- Win by 50 09/20 vs Mississippi College -- Win by 50 09/27 vs Sam Houston State -- Lose by 7 10/04 at Abilene Christian -- Win by 3 (I think ACU will be by far the best of the newbies this year) 10/11 vs Southeastern Louisiana -- Lose by 20 10/18 at Nicholls State -- Win by 14 11/01 vs Houston Baptist -- Win by 35 11/08 at Central Arkansas -- Lose by 3 11/15 vs Incarnate Word -- Win by 31 11/22 at McNeese State -- Lose by 21 7-5. I could see us beating Sam or even maybe UCA if we play very well, but think Southeastern and McNeese are significantly better than anyone else in the conference--I'd be surprised if either loses to anyone else in the conference. Conversely, I'd be surprised if HBU or Incarnate Bird got any wins against anyone other than their head-to-head battle. I'm very worried about our lack of depth. If we stay fully healthy, especially on the lines and at QB, it obviously would improve our chances of getting to 8 or even 9 wins. Quote
