coachacola Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Updated composite ratings as of Monday morning (20 rankings): McNeese new top dog with NW State and SFA making big moves while SELA and SHSU keep moving down. LU and ACU slowly inching upward into respectability... #11 McNeese State (bye week) #22 NW State (big win over La Tech) #23 SELA (lost to average SE Missouri State team) #36 SFA (beat a winless Weber State) #37 UCA (close loss to good Missouri State team) #38 SHSU (bye week) #59 LU (another blowout win over cupcake) #67 ACU (shutout of IWU) #109 Nicholls State #114 IWU #115 HBU http://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare1aa.htm Quote
Card Nation Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Grambling is at 103. Grambling just beat Jackson St and Jackson St is ranked above Grambling at 102. Weird. SELA may be beatable since we have them at home and La Tech is terrible. ACU beating the 'word' doesn't impress me very much. This Saturday's game is obviously gonna be huge for the rankings Quote

puddin tane Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Mr masseys love affair with the MVFC continues....I think everybody is ranked, with the exception of South Dakota and a Sigma nu frat team Quote
KABrother88 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Looking at some of the polls I've noticed the Bassett (BAS) is all over the place...here are the SLC overall rankings then the Bassett ranking SELA - 8 - 47 NWSt - 22 - 79 McNeese - 24 - 28 SHSU - 29 - 42 UCA - 37 - 56 SFA - 42 - 75 LU - 57 - 109 ACU - 72 - 73 UIW - 114 - 119 Nicholls - 115 - 123 HBU - 123 - 124 The bottom 3 are teams are ranked in the bottom 15-20 in most of the rankings so the Bassett is on par with those...but it amuses me that ACU would be ranked 36 spots higher than us when we went there and beat them (in a comeback albeit) and we are only ranked 14 spots ahead of a team we just blew out at their place This poll is the worst ranking for SELA, NWSt, & LU (HBU's is 124 of 124 in the BAS and 5 other polls have them there so I'll excude them). The next lowest ranking for these schools are: SELA - 23 (47 - BAS) NWSt - 43 (79 - BAS) LU - 79 (109 - BAS) Quote
coachacola Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Here's how LU has ranked since bringing football back: 2010: 90 2011: 103 2012: 89 2013: 74 2014: 57 (currently) Besides stumbling in 2011 they've made steady but slow progress. Here's how SELA has done over the same period: 2010: 86 2011: 88 2012: 51 (new coach) 2013: 5 (stud QB) 2014: 10 (currently) SELA jumped from the low 80s to upper 50s by hiring a new coach. LU has done that this year with Woodard. Maybe Woodard is only a few good players away from a breakout year? Quote
