Scouting Lamar: Cardinals QB with own solid showing in opener

COLLEGE STATION – Decades from now, Lamar’s players should have at least a couple of memorable moments from the 2014 season.

 

One came when former Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer offered the program a rousing pep talk on Aug. 24, as the guest speaker at the annual Lamar Football Kickoff Celebration.

 

“I’ve got the spirit,” Switzer told the Beaumont Enterprise that night.

 

Another will come Saturday, when the Cardinals help open A&M’s halfway-completed Kyle Field, a $450 million renovation set for 100 percent completion in one year.
