thatguy Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 So your upset at the confernce wins because their not signature wins, even though they are confernce wins.......but they lost to the top two teams in the conference, The arkansas team and Tamu.....OK......sounds silly but ok. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Here you go "thatguy"! Monday morning ratings (32 rankings) #16 SELA #18 SHSU #30 NW State #38 McNeese State #39 SFA #41 UCA #56 ACU #58 LU #105 IWU #119 Nicholls State #122 HBU Of the 6 top teams, LU has played 3 already and will play a 4th, McNeese, on Saturday night. They have lost to all 3. They do not play two of them, SFA & NWState. Will they beat McNeese? I surely want them too but we will see? ACU, a team that LU beat and the only quality conference win, leap frogged LU this week on the fact that they actually beat UCA and we had a very lackluster performance against IWU. So, again, the facts bear out that we have yet to beat this year a quality opponent that would show that we are moving toward being a championship program. Beat McNeese, and that changes some. But we will stay at home in the post season even if we win!! Quote
puddin tane Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) First- I think ya got realize this was probably the weakest schedule in the history of Lamar Football. Second- I don't mind scheduling one scrub team, but we don't need more than one. He'll, the big boys schedule us, we return the favor and schedule a d2.....no big deal...but Texas College has gotta go Third-down year in the SLC, I think we shoulda done better....hopefully we beat McNeese not a fan of Woodards, but if he gets another year, he's gotta get new guy in on defense....too many teams had their best offensive games of the year against our D Edited November 18, 2014 by puddin tane Quote
BigNasty92 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Let me try to understand this: 7-4 FIRST WINNING RECORD SINCE 1979 MOST WINS SINCE 1974 NO REPORTS OF NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR FROM FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN THE COMMUNITY NUMEROUS SCHOOL RECORDS SET .......AND SOME PEOPLE ON THIS BORD ARE COMPLAINING? some of you act like lamar has a history like notre dame. In all the years of football lamar has a record under .500 (.432) and have only won 9 games once. So to say anything negative about these kids or this program is laughable. Hell, 99 % of you probably never played..LOL!!! I've been following lamar from a distance but for a 5th year TEAM that's not bad. Kudos to these kids and these coaches. Unlike some of the arm-chair QBs on this board, those of us who have played the game at a high level appreciate what your doing for the Golden T. CONRATULTIONS TO THE PROGRAM....YOUR ON THE RIGHT TRACK COACH WOODWARD! +1 Quote

I think if we had our defense last year with our offense this year we could of had 9 wins just my opinion. I think the defense showed improvement throughout the season and McGallion is doing what he can with the youth he has give him another year with these kids don't fire him because he had so many younger players he had to play with. GO LAMAR Quote
Lamarcard81 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I was at the game til halftime. We played ragged and I was freezing so we left and listend on the radio. I was there for the introduction of the Seniors. God bless all of them!! I am so proud of them!!! Attendance is awful...the kids deserve much better. LU's marketing effort and community support are BOTH disappointing. If Coach Woodard gets another year I am neither upset or thrilled. I will go to Lake Charles if the weather is not horrible. I am a true LU fan and I dont understand the attendance problem. This lack of fan support has to be a recruiting problem. Caleb Berry looks in the stands at the beginning of his last game of his record setting season and career.....how unbelievably discouraging. The fan base has to understand it is a two way street. puddin tane Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Don't want to be a smartass.....but...."you can't understand the attendance ", "kids deserve better", yet you left at halftime! Quote
Lamarcard81 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Figured someone would say that. Could not take the cold and wind. I am getting old. Had there been anyone sitting around me at all to help block the wind and create some warmth I might have lasted longer. In my section (gold) the atttendance was probably about 10%. Quote

LUSportsFan Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 In Cardinal81's defense... ...It was 63 degrees the game before. Although my wife were wearing coats rated for -15 degrees for that game, we were chilled as were a lot of other fans apparently. I can run around in shorts and short sleeves in Colorado in 30-40 degrees (spent about half the year up there the last couple of years), but no longer in Southeast Texas. The same coats are very comfortable in single digit weather in Colorado. The difference is the humidity. At least Cardinal81 made the trip over for the game. We were among the missing...first home game we missed this season. I guess we were part of the 90% missing from the chair back section. The good news is that the athletic department had already received our money. We let the forecast 50% chance of rain coupled with cool weather sway us from the 1 3/4 hour drive over from west Houston. In retrospect, we probably should have made the trip, but we didn't. Looking forward to making games next season, though. Just sampling of home game attendance, it looks like it was down several places on Saturday. Lamar 5,761 (10,212 the previous game) SFA - 5,581 (They had over 13,000 for the previous home game and had an upset away win over #6 (at the time) McNeese State the game before) Texas Southern - 2,824 (8,000 - 9,000 the last two games) Eastern Kentucky (#18) 3,100 (Started season with 16,700) Missouri State 4,597 (Started season with 18,386) Southeast Missouri - 2,089 (Started season with 7,000-8,000 for the 1st three games) South Dakota State - 3,204 (Had been averaging 12,000 - 13,000) Quote
