Stabler leads Lamar, advances to NCAA Championships

Both the Lamar men's and women's cross country teams turned out solid performances, including Sam Stabler's individual third place finish, Friday afternoon at the South Central Regionals held at Agri Park at the University of Arkansas.

 

Stabler broke his personal career best in the 10,000-meter run with a 29:35.9 mark that qualified him for the NCAA Championships held in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 22 and gave him NCAA All-Region team honors. He finished behind Arkansas' Stanly Kebenei who finished at 29:08.1 and Texas' Craig Lutz at 29:13.7.
