coachacola
Looking over the football roster and the details for each player, I took note of which players were on the 2-deep coming out of spring camp. I pieced together the 2-deep depth chart heading into summer: Offense X Jayce Nelson, ?? A Reggie Begelton, Gratian Gladney LT ??, Chase Woods (was Chance Allen going to be starting LT before he left?) LG John Craven, Connor Ward C ??, ?? (big hole to fill, Kevin Greif played some here last year, maybe he'll be the starter?) RG Bret Treadway, ?? RT Justin Brock, Kevin Greif Z Devonn Brown, ?? (Jayce Nelson started here last year) Y Dillon Barrett, Payden McVey RG Kade Harrington, Michael Handy (will any of the freshmen make an impact here?) QB ??, ?? (I'm guessing Joe Minden will be the starter) Defense LE Koby Couron, Larance Hale NT Omar Tebo, Joshua Frost RE Corbin Carr, David Hollyfield Sam Mike Hargis, ?? Mike Ronnie Jones Jr, Eddie McGill MO Anthony Beard, Shawn Jones Will Logan Moss, ?? LC Seth Ellis, Michael Sheridan LS Xaview Bethany, ?? RS DeQuan Stewart, ?? RC Lloyd Julian, ?? 6 starters returning on offense, 8 on defense 3 offensive line starters are back, but only Chase Woods, Connor Ward and Kevin Greif saw significant playing time behind them last year. Caleb Berry and Mark Roberts will be missed, can Joe Minden and the two WR transfers from Georgia and Texas Tech (Langley and Wheeler) pick up the slack? On defense Okafor and Curran are gone at DE but Couron and Carr played a lot of minutes last year at those positions. 3 of the 4 starting safeties from last year are back but is there enough depth at this position? I know, it's not even June yet but I'm getting ready for football season.
KABrother88
Glad I'm not the only one who had tried to piece this together lol. Couple answers to your questions (based off the roster): #2 @ Z - Martell Hawthorne #2 @ Will - Zach Johnson #2 @ RS - Tristan Ridge #2 @ RC - Tommie Barrett For some reason none of the transfers here for spring showed to come out of spring listed in the 2 deep...maybe as a way to show seniority to guys who have been around. But the will answer some of the questions. Langley will be in the 2-deep at either X or Z (my guess is Z cause he might be better than Brown) Didn't hear much about Dom Wheeler in the spring so idk if he's in the 2-deep or not. Matt Oubre was running 1st team C in spring. Hampton is probably #2 at Sam and should see plenty of PT. Minden was the first QB taken in the spring draft so that points to him being ahead of Earp and Bell. We desperately need to find an FBS Tackle that is looking to transfer...Baylor's 6'9" 280 lb beast of a DE that is Shawn Oakman is a death sentence for a true freshman. KABrother88
Dillon Barrett is from what I have seen at Ole Miss now. He sure is...hadn't seen that. He was listed in the article about the 40 student athletes graduating and was listed as 1 of 2 football players that were coming back for their final year of eligibility while pursuing a Masters but his Twitter says Ole Miss TE. With him having graduated he's eligible this fall for Ole Miss despite transferring up to FBS.

coachacola
The 2015 football prospectus is out early and there's a few surprises on the depth chart. Cody Elenz is listed at starting left tackle, a transfer from the University of Idaho, where he started in 2013 until he was injured. Barrett is still on the depth chart while Dominque Wheeler (from Texas Tech) is not. Offense X Jayce Nelson, Brendan Langley (Georgia transfer) A Reggie Begelton, Gratian Gladney LT Cody Elenz (Idaho transfer), Chase Woods LG John Craven, Connor Ward C Matt Oubre (UL-Monroe transfer), John Craven RG Bret Treadway, Connor Ward RT Justin Brock, Kevin Greif Z Devonn Brown, Marthell Hawthorne Y Dillon Barrett, Brannon Beaton RG Kade Harrington, Michael Handy QB Joe Minden (SFA transfer), Carson Earp (JUCO transfer) Defense LE Koby Couron, Larance Hale NT Omar Tebo, Joshua Frost RE Corbin Carr, David Hollyfield SAM Mike Hargis, Cameron Hampton (UT transfer) MIKE Ronnie Jones Jr, Eddie McGill MO Anthony Beard, Shawn Jones WILL Logan Moss, Zach Johnson LC Seth Ellis, Michael Sheridan LS Xaview Bethany, Ty Johnson (Texas Lutheran transfer) RS DeQuan Stewart, Trestan Ridge RC Lloyd Julian, Tommy Barrett http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/lama/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2014-15/prospectus/prospectus.pdf
KABrother88
Holy cow its out way early...but I like it. If I remember correctly the 2014 edition didn't come out until like 2 weeks before the season started!
KABrother88
Little more on Cody Elenz, he was a 2-Star prospect out of Copperas Cove in 2011. Red-Shirted in 2011 at Idaho. Started all 12 games at LT as a R-Fr in 2012. Started 8 games at "Quick" Tackle in 2013 before he was injured. Played in 8 more games in 2013 however none were starts. He eill be a R-Sr this year. NorthoftheBorder
Where is Carl Harris?
KABrother88
Where is Carl Harris? Still on the roster. I'm sure he'll still get plenty of carries but this may be an indication we will retain a lot of the short passes getting the ball into the flats to the RBs.
