LU's Begelton grateful for recognition

Now, Begelton can add another honor to his resume after Dave Campbell's magazine predicted him to be one of their Small School College Players-of-the-Year.

 

"It is a nice surprise and good news to be thought about so highly in a high profile," Begelton said. "The individual accolades are nice, but this season my ultimate goal is to help our team get a conference championship ring."

Reggie is the prime example of what hitting on the right walk-on can do for an FCS program. It's been said the Lamar has made a point to strengthen its walk-on program and I think some of the talent that has been brought in as walk-ons in this past recruiting cycle is exceptional.
