Coaches bailing out

QB 22

Recommended Posts

I don't know if you'd call it "bailing out". Mike reported yesterday that no the Criner and Bailey were not be guaranteed to be retained with the new DC. So did what anyone would do in that position...explored what other options were available.

Are far as Criner's son, I haven't seen any indication that he ever committed. I think it's a tough position for a kid when your dad is a college coach. On one hand, you know the kid has dreamed about playing college ball where his dad coaches...on the other hand, with so much turnover in the coaching profession, if the coach is let go, the player has to either finish off his career at that school without his dad or transfer and potentially lose a year of eligibility. With it having been so long since he was offered, I get the feeling that Coach Criner told him to make a decision of where he'd want to play for 4-5 years whether pops was there or not.

From what I hear they were frustrated with the lack of organization within the program and were to vocal Woodwards comfort, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Look at all of the personal fouls we had. Eventually, this will get him fired...with or without Dauphine's money.

That's not what the players said. I had class with several of them last semester.

And I wouldn't necessarily take a player's word for it. They would blame a coach before themselves. At the end of the day it's a coach's responsibility to ensure their players are prepared to take the field on Saturday. It was clear last season that the offense was consistently better than the defense

...both play calling and effort. I saw a LOT of half assin out of the defense last season.

All I can do is go by what they told me during class or in the nest. And it wasn't like it was all at once, at independent times different players were saying the same thing......that can't be coincidental is all I'm saying.
