Spring Camp Information

Recommended Posts

Although the ink from the signatures of Lamar University's newest additions has not yet dried on National Signing Day, the Cardinals announced they will host the annual spring game – the Crawfish Bowl – Saturday, April 16th. The event, which signifies the end of spring practice every year will kick off at noon from Provost Umphrey Stadium.

Big Red fans will have the opportunity to spend the day on the LU campus cheering on the Cardinals. After the spring game, the LU fans can make their way over to Vincent-Beck Stadium to watch the LU baseball team take on rival McNeese State (2 p.m.). Fans will have an opportunity to also see the LU softball team in a Southland doubleheader as well. The Cardinals will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with the first game beginning at 2 p.m. followed by the second game at 4:30 p.m.

The Cardinals will open camp Monday, March 7, and go through April 16th, but will take the week of March 14-18 off for spring break. LU is slated for three workouts each week with the first two weeks holding practices on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and will switch to Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the rest of camp.

All non-Friday practices will begin at 7 p.m., while Friday workouts will take place at 4:30 p.m. The Cardinals will also hold a scrimmage on Friday, April 8 (4:30 p.m.).
