So, it's not like he was without options. If I was a parent, I would be upset with Louisiana's lack of commitment. As an outsider, though, I have a hard time having much sympathy for these kids. As the article points out, kid's aren't loyal to the schools anymore. So, if a school changes their mind, especially before NSD, that's fair game. Look at Jeremy Johnson from Silsbee. 6 schools before he finished his eligibility??? Are you kidding me? Quote
Dracula Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 ULL convinced Alfred to drop La Tech, come sign with them, and then they drop him. That's just bad business because that's ammo for every other recruiter to use against ULL next year. Quote

That's just bad business because that's ammo for every other recruiter to use against ULL next year. so...he lied to La Tech, with a verbal commit, for something he saw as better...and it bit him on the ass? Cry me a river Quote
Dracula Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The kid got his scholarship. The one crying the river is going to be ULL. Who knows how much of a negative impact this is going to create with future ULL recruiting. Quote

KABrother88 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 This happens a lot more often than people realize. Majority of the time however, it happens when a knew coach comes in...former SHSU HC Willie Fritz cut loose 7-8 Tulane commits when he took over recently...many times these kids announce they have decommitted on their own. The HC from WB may very well shut the doors to UL-L but with the way recruiting has evolved in terms of how college coaches communicate with recruits (social media, phone calls and such) and the explosion of camps that colleges host, the HS HC isn't near the middle man he once was. A college coach can evaluate and recruit a kid without ever stepping foot oh the campus. Quote
Dracula Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 You're probably right, a school rescinding an offer to a kid probably happens all the time and with all the social media available, a recruiter can go around a HC to reach out to a kid. But, every kid will go to his HC and talk about an offer. Two things that I am sure of is that every year the local area produces a lot of signable talent and that all the local HC's know and talk shop to each other. ULL just put themselves on the local radar, with a buyer beware tag, and that can't be good for future local recruiting. Quote
c.cunnington Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Wonder if the NCAA case being dropped factored in...Heard a lot guys who ull offered really early committed once case ended & few they offered during season & ones they started showing lot of interest in lost all communication with them once case dropped Quote
