Lamar Basketball at UIW

Lamar loses by 17 at UIW. Pretty well puts the nail in the coffin for any chance to get to the tourney as McNeese wins against Nicholls giving them 5 wins with two games to play and Lamar has 3 wins with two to play. Lamar has to beat McNeese on Monday and Sam Houston at Sam next Saturday plus get some help from UCA and SELA to get in ahead of McNeese and maybe Northwestern St.

I know this team is young and will get better but it has been a very disappointing season.

Sounds like Mattingly may not return next year. They said on the broadcast today that he is scheduled to graduate this spring and plans to have his Senior night on Monday. If he doesn't I sure hope Price can find a big man that can contribute for next years team. Assuming Weisbaud is still coming next year I expect from what I saw of him last year at UNO that he will provide some of the leadership that Mattingly has tried to do this year by his example of always giving it his best shot.
