good win Cards!

were any of our passes over 5 yds? or was it all a bunch of dinks?

Well since the average was 13+ yards per catch the math would say that it was much more than what you call "dinks".

...you ever heard of "yards after catch"? one of Harringtons receptions was 60 yards...did earp throw it 60 yards downfield and harrington tackled there? or did he throw it 1 yard and harrington ran it another 59? did he throw it 10 yards and harrington ran another 50?

It was 16 completions for 211 yards. Does it really matter what happened before or after the catch? The fans in attendance enjoyed the complete win, you could see the smiles on the players faces. The Cardinals won with a good passing game, a good running game and good special teams. We had a few injuries but the next man up did very well.

I'm sure the majority of Cardinal fans are happy with both the 211 yards of passing and the game in the win column.

it does when you answer my question like a jackass. "math will tell you it was much more than dinks"

im thrilled we got a win and dang sure glad we had over 200 yards passing. We find a passing game, we can win out.

Just a little food for thought...the 211 yards was the most for an individual QB since Earp threw for 233 last year against Sam...we only had 1 other occasion where a passer went over 200 in that span and that was Minden with 208 against HBU

Having the ability to throw the ball deep does help open up the running the game. If LU can't throw it deep then it's going to hurt them against then good teams, like Central Arkansas and McNeese.

My apologies for being offensive to you. I've always been told that I say it like it is.

By the way, I hope to see your passion in the stands Saturday. We need more support for the team.

I was watching one of the local TV sports segments about the Abilene game. I believe that one of the highlights was that long ball,it was accurate, and it was pretty. Another, was a ball that Earp had some zip on and it was on the money. They even threw Harrington a swing out of the backfield. What the hell, where has this been hiding? I'm hoping to see more Saturday night.

I'll be happy with dinking 16/19, if it loosens up the defense and gives Harrington some room to run.

I believe the reason for Puddin's question is because dinkin down field does very little to loosen up the defense. Probably quite the opposite. Stack the line for the run...if they just throw dinks who cares, we're already stackin the line. Stretching the field keeps players from cheating up, dinks don't. Fairly deep passes over the middle force linebackers to stay back a little. I'm glad with through for 200 yds. I'm glad we passed a whopping 19 times. It's kind of a tough situation. You play these teams that can stop our running game so why not run every down? I think we still have to force ourselves to throw some or there is no way we will improve enough to beat better teams.
