IMO, I think Lamar would be stupid not to keep Woodard around in some capacity. He's proven he can raise money and, regardless of his W/L record, he's an extremely warm and likeable guy. I don't know the AD or President Evans personally but I've certainly observed both of them in many situations where they could of taken advantage of the situation. Neither of them seemed to have any type of personality what so ever. (and I haven't met a single person that likes Jason Henderson)

There's obvious bad blood between Henderson and Woodard. The guy didn't even have the respect or balls enough to show up to Woodard's press conference to announce he'd been let go. That's a straight up "punk ass" move, IMO.

If we have to have faith in that guy for the continued well being of our athletic programs, we are in DEEP shit without having someone with a personality like Woodard's around.

I agree you! I would rather have Woodard as the AD than Henderson.

Thanks to all who have been classy enough to recognize Ray Woodard for the work he put in getting this program off the ground. I had been supporting Coach and preaching patience but after the past season and a half the team just fell off the table and, as I've said before, I thought it was time for a change. That doesn't mean Ray doesn't deserve our appreciation and respect for getting the program off the ground. In that regard he was successful and did Lamar proud.

As for the suggestion that Lamar keep Ray around in some capacity I think is not a good idea. Ray is plenty young enough to want another shot at coaching. Coaches coach. Unless you are old enough to retire and your function is as a good will ambassador for the school you might regard an offer to stick around in some vague capacity as a bit of a slap in the face. Guys usually only take jobs like that if they graduated from the school or, like Darrell Royal, spent a long time coaching at that school. This is not the case with Coach.

Fare ye well, Coach Woodard. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Now it's time to see if the AD and his selection committee can get this right.
