geezer
Cards open the game with very cold shooting and at the first media timeout are down 10-0.
geezer
At the under 12 minute timeout in the first half Lamar is down by 8 at 17-9 and Weisbrod has all nine points for Lamar. AMCC's Thomas is having another strong game against the Cards.
geezer
Just under four minutes left in the first half and AMCC up by 16 at 30-14. Cards have twelve turnovers and only one basket by anyone other than Weisbrod.
geezer
Half time and Lamar has gotten the AMCC lead back to eleven at 33-22. Cold shooting at 30% from the field and 1-10 from three point range plus a games worth of turnovers with 13 has the Cards in a hole. Cards have a chance but must take care of the ball on offense, hit some shots that they missed in the first half and control Thomas from AMCC who has thirteen points, six rebounds, four blocks and two steals. Weisbrod has the same numbers for points and rebounds but no steals or blocks.
geezer
4:20 left in the game. The Cards are currently one point down and did get into the lead for a short period. The got here by getting Thomas in foul trouble and forcing him to the bench for a few minutes. Don't know if the Cards can close the deal but getting it back to this close is a big deal. geezer
Cards had the game tied 59 at 2:20 left in the game but then fail to score over the next two minutes and wind up loosing 70-61. Down to four games left in the regular season for the Cards and they need to win two of four to guarantee their place in the tourney. Cards have probably lost their opportunity to get into the top four and get a bye as they are two game back of AMCC in the loss column and one game back of both Sam Houston and HBU. Cards have HBU at home so their is still a chance to get even with them in the loss column but will have to rely on other teams to beat both Sam and HBU while probably winning out to get to fourth. Cards still haven't demonstrated an ability to close out close games.
