geezer
Wasn't home so missed the ladies game but LU won by two. Watching the last half of the men's game and LU gets up to about a seven point lead but then McNeese makes a mini run to get close again. With 7:36 left in the game LU is up 61-56. geezer
Cards don't seem to be nearly as energetic as they played against Nicholls on Wednesday. On defense not cutting the ball of on McNeese drives to the basket near as well as at Nicholls.

geezer
Final score LU 84 - McNeese 75. Lamar makes 17 of 20 free throws, that's two games in a row of solid free throw percentage. LU out rebounds McNeese by 10. Individually Barrett led LU with 17 points and 10 rebounds, followed by 16 points from both Hunter and Garth and 12 points for Nzeakor. It wasn't the performance that Wednesday was but it was positive and it is a win. Edited February 2, 2019 by geezer

Skinny1
Both Lamar men’s and women’s basketball teams eked out close wins at Lake Chuck against McNeese. Women won a close game 64-62, against the Cowgirls and some very questionable SLC officiating to stay undefeated in conference. LU men also won in a close game 84-75 with a great game from Christian Barrett. Lamar men have now won 3 of the last 4, but will be playing upper echelon teams in the next 3 weeks. baller
There was a good contingent of Cardinal fans at the games in Lake Charles including the Athletic Director,MarcoBorn. The new MSU facility is very nice and cozy, seating a little over 4000.The Cards outrebounded the Pokes by 10 and limited the Cowboys best three point shooters.A good strategy given The Cowboys were not nearly as efficient shooting free throws as the Cards when run off the three point line. Two road wins in any conference is a key to a successful season and welcomed. Let's hope we can continue to pick up a few more road wins and importantly protect the NEST at home.Maybe this will be a turning point like the Incarnate Word game was in football.T.J.Atwood was at the game on crutches. We wished him well in his recovery.
