LU BB versus Northwestern St

Big game for the Ladies in Natchitoches as they need to get back on the winning track to keep the regular season championship in reach. For the men they are at home playing a team behind them in the race for the tourney but against a team that is definitely capable of coming into the Montange and winning. Game time for the men is 7:00 PM.

It appears the Ladies have come out tonight to revenge their failure on Saturday After the first uarter the Cards are up 39-18.

Eight minutes to go in the first half and I just don't understand the men. Currently up by six at 26-20 but should be up by much more. To this point free throw shooting is better than it was earlier in the year but not as good as it has been on the roac the last couple of weeks. Not as much overall energy as they have had on the road. I guess part of it the lack of fan support as the attendance hasn't picked up much even though the records have improved quite a bit over the last couple of years. Virtually no students in the student sections.

Ladies are up by twenty two half way through the third quarter.

Northwestern St ladies have made a nice comeback in the last half of the third quarter and are now only down by twelve going into the fourth quarter. Lamar men are up by nine at the half.

Lady Cards win 94-70. Good game following the tough loss at SFA.

Men have come out in the second half and are playing without energy and have allowed Northwestern St come back and take a three point lead with 5:43 left in the game. Cards have 17 turnovers so far in the game.

Men have squandered a 15 point lead and now trail 60-63 with 5:45 to go

Lamar escapes with a 75-70 win. After giving up the fifteen point lead and going down by three the Cards recovered enough to get a one point lead and force Northwestern St to foul. Hunter hits six free throws to close out the game for the Cards.

Eighteen turnovers over the game for LU only good news here is NW had twenty five. 78% from the free throw line including the last six in a row by Hunter. Lamar gets the edge in rebounds by three although LU had a much bigger advantage at the half.

Lamar wins the 999th game in school history tonight.

On a sad note, Coach Price’s mother died this morning. Prayers to the Price family.
