The SLC is actually one of the better conferences in the country (13th out of 31). Too bad LU is dragging down the conference.

At this point the rankings are still based at least partially on last years performance. The SLC has been a middle of the field conference for several years so if the Cards can win the current series with BYU and improve their conference performance over last year they have a shot at moving up quite a ways in the rankings over the course of the season. Hoping for good things this year.
