geezer
Expect another blowout. Different line up for LU with Sullivan, Atwood, Buster, Holmes and Muoka. Edited November 9, 2019 by geezer
geezer
AB taking advantage of some poor offensive descissions and turnovers to take a 12-9 lead into the first media timeout. Cards are shooting 21% and have three turnovers in the first five minutes.
geezer
Cards are up 20 - 19 with nine minutes left in the first half. Turnovers, forced shots, inconsistent offensive flow, no offense from the post yet.
geezer
Five and a half minutes left in the first half and LU is up 32-21. Two of the freshmen Nickerson and Sohail are playing a good aggresive style of basketball. At 6'7" Nickerson is looks to be the three/four position player Lamar has been looking for. He has a good looking mid range shot and appears to be a decent ball handler also. Sohail is one of those in your face pesky guards. Very active on defense, a little out of control offensively. geezer
Haoftime finds the Cards up by sixteen. Leaders for LU, Atwood 11 points and 7 rebounds, Buster ten points, but not shooting well. Nickerson 8 points and 6 rebounds. Sullivan has eight rebounds but is only 1-6 shooting despite almost all of his shots are within the paint. Kopp still sidelined tonight. geezer
Five minutes into the second half and Lamar is out to a 60 - 35 lead. Muoka has looked much better toward the end of the first half and so far in the second. He has been playing good help defense with a couple of blocked shots. Nickerson has continued to play well. geezer
No, I think it was mentioned on the last games broadcast that he might have some kind of injury as he and one other Card have not suited up for either game. In addition two other players that are suited up haven't played tonight.
geezer
Final score 106 - 61. Arwood was leading scorer with 25 point followed by Nickerson with 21. Buster had a very poor shooting night and only scored 12. Nickerson finished with a double double. Tuesday's game at Duquesne will be a real test for this young team. geezer
Granted it wasn't against SLC competition, but Nickerson looked better tonight than Nzeakor did as a junior and many nights even his senior year. If Kopp is a similar quality these freshmen will be the core of a very strong LU team for the next few years.
