lamarfan360 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 (edited) Congratulations to Joshua McKenzie on signing with Lamar. This commitment may give a hint to what kind of offense Coach Morgan plans on running, since McKenzie is a Fullback. Edited December 20, 2019 by lamarfan360 Quote

BTW, Joshua McKenzie is a Beaumont, TX native. https://www.beaumontenterprise.com/sports/slideshow/Signing-Day-2019-189734.php Edited December 21, 2019 by lamarfan360 Quote

Yes, Joshua played at BU before going to a Prep School in South Carolina. I was confused at first because he played OT in HS. He must have made the switch to Fullback at Palmetto Prep. Quote
Dracula Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 If hes gonna run some gawd awful flexbone crap, givens can do that Chunkin Tater, There is no comparison between Schultz and Morgan. Morgan develops QB's in a passing offence. Go to Youtube and watch the condensed games of SDSU vs or or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylU5dBU5dX4. SDSU would run the I with a fullback lead, the shotgun and the back would leak out, A lot of passes across the middle. If this season, is any indication of what to expect, you and the LU receivers should be happy. The question is, who will be the QB? Can Morgan coach up a Givens or will someone else come in? Quote

I set my DVR for the New Mexico Bowl to watch SDSU vs. Central Michigan today (at 1pm, ESPN) to watch after the Lamar WBB beats NWSt at the Montagne. We may get a look of Morgan’s offensive scheme even though he is not the OC. Quote

Yep, looks more like Coach Alborn than Coach Shultz (hopefully he will be)… more of a modern day run-and-shoot Quote
Dracula Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) I like that big H-back/TE/whatever position. Does LU have anybody to play that? Bailey Giffen could have a big year. Edited December 21, 2019 by Dracula Quote

Dracula Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 For what it's worth, SDSU QB goes 18/31, 287 yards, 3TD's, 1 INT. He hit 11 different receivers and the majority were around 10/11 yards per pass. The running game went 35 /234 with 2 TD's. Chunkin Tater, no flexbone. Quote

Skinny1 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 According to Morgan, Lamar has solid commitments on 3 QB’s. 2 JUCO and 1 high school. He did not give me any names. Quote
