geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Should be tough games for both. AMCC women are currently a half game ahead of LU and the Cards are on the road again. AMCC Men are two and five in conference but the teams they have defeated are Northwestern St and SFA. Since LU already lost to NWST you can't assume anything. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Is this a must win for the Cardinals? Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 At the end of the first quarter Lamar leads A&M CC 16-11. Quote
Skinny1 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Refs are letting the girls play for a change, but don’t expect good officiating to last. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 LU down 1 pt after the 3rd quarter. Quote
Skinny1 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Lamar only scored 8 points in 3rd quarter. Need to pick it up. Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 Women just have too many short players. AMCC is taller at almost every position. if Lamar isn't hitting the three,Lamar is in trouble. Quote

I agree and this not a strong outside shooting team. We are offensively challenged this year and have too many turnovers to overcome against decent teams. Good thing is we don’t seem to be out coached. Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 WE will see what kind of recruiting class she is able to get for next year. While it's good not to get out coached, You have to have the players. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Lamar MBB team up 11-8, at 13:37 mark of the first half. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 24-15, Cardinals lead with 4:00 in 1st half. Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 At the last media timeout of the first half Cards are up by nine. LU 24 - AMCC 15 Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 Kopp needs to move in as opposed to kind of forcing three pointers. Nothing wrong with making deuces. His shot isn't smooth. Seems to be falling forward on his shots. Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 (edited) Cards up by five at the half. 28 - 23. Cards have kept the turnovers under control in the first half, but are getting out rebounded. Edited January 18, 2020 by geezer Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Game tied with under 4 minutes left in the game. Come on Cardinals, we need to finish! Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 Four minutes left with the game tied at 57. Hate to say it but I'm pessimistic for the remainder of this game. Quote
geezer Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 (edited) Lamar down by five with 55 seconds left. Another game that LU hasn't made a field goal since the four minute mark or more. Can't win games not making baskets of any kind down the stretch. Kopp hit a couple of free throws. Edited January 18, 2020 by geezer Quote
Skinny1 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Lamar MBB loses another one to a bottom echelon SLC team 64-58. As Geezer says, this team does not finish out games very well. That gives us 5 conference losses and chances of making the tournament are bleak. Well Tic, that’s nail #5. Quote
