Both teams need a win today having both lost at Corpus. For the women they need to win out and hope for a enough losses of the two teams immediately above them in the standings to make the tourney. If the men can win today and next Wednesday against UIW that should give them 8th place at minimum. With an 8-8 record the men are currently tied for sixth in the win column but also are tied for 8th in the loss column. AMCC and UIW or currently 9th and 10th in the standings both of which have nine losses.

Men started out a little slow falling behind at 7-3 before coming back to tie the game at eleven. Since tieing the game LU has scored the next twelve points for a twelve point lead with about ten minutes left in the first half. Sullivan went out with his second fouls at about the same time.

Men are up by eleven at the half 34 -23. Sullivan and Atwood each have two fouls out of six fouls total for LU. Rebounds are tied, but the Cards have the advantage in the turnover department with eight compared to fourteen for CC. Edited by geezer

This Islanders team is the only team to beat the Lumberjacks of SFA and beat them at SFA.We have a double digit lead at half but need to keep the pedal to the medal.

SFA has only lost one game in conference and out of conference lost to a very good Rutgers team and Alabama. Both those losses were on the road. Also they did have a historic win at top 10/Duke.

Men have maintained their lead through the first eight minutes of the second half. Cards up 49 - 36 with 11:32 left in the game. Cards have to maintain their offensive intensity.

Cards are up 68 - 51 with 3:58 left in the game. Final media time out is over. Cards need to control the ball and not commit turnovers over the last few minutes. May have to make a bunch of free throws unless AMCC figures the game is already lost. Edited by geezer

Lamar men have now won 3 in a row. They will probably beat lowly incarnate word next but SFA is a tall task on the road. The final game of the regular season is McNeese who has struggled since their top player sprained his ankle two weeks ago.We are now 9-8 in the conference and 15-13 overall. We will probably finish the regular season 11-9 in conference and 18-15 regular season.Probably results in a 5 seed and without a bye.Two wins in the conference tourney gives us two straight 20 win seasons but tough to advance past a few games in tourney without a bye or double bye.

Most likely a six seed is probably as high as LU can get. Northwestern St would need to loose three of their last four in order for LU to pass them if you assume Lamar drops one more game. Northwestern St owns the tie breaker with Lamar.

Lamar Men’ team is currently tied for 6th place with Central Arkansas. McNeese is the last team in currently.

SLC has a kind of odd tie breaker in that if a school only plays 1 head to head game, it does not count as a tie breaker, but records against common home & home records of the teams ahead of them in the standings. Suppose to negate the home court advantage.
