Guest CardAmbassador
I know they didn't have many carries but both Harmon and Hannah didn't look bad. I actually expected Hannah to have a bigger role than he did, but he still had the physicality I thought he did. If you look at the stats they don't tell you much, but Hannah had one nice run around the left side where he only gained about 2 yards but he popped the TxSt defender pretty hard before going down. Both Harmon and Hannah were the physicality we've been missing since DPG was hurt. I would like to see more of Harmon but especially Hannah against UCA. Harmon's TD was a good run because he made contact with defenders and was able to shed that contact to continue on in to the end zone. geezer
Hanna is the biggest player listed at running back and he is only 6 ft and 205 pounds, the rest may be faster but he is the only one with enough beef to possibly get any yards consitently on his own. This team needs a bruiser to open up the running game. Give me a 220# running back to run behind Campbell and Odem and he only needs to be fast enoubh to run 8 yards at one time to be successful, 4 yards to get to the line of scrimmage and 4 yards past the line so he doesn't need to be able to outrun anybody. Hanna was timed in the spring at 4.57 in the forty so he is fast enough. 6'0, 205 lbs is bigger than the kid most of the fan's of Lamar football wanted Coach Woodard to sign last winter and that was Fred Ford as he is 6'0, 190 lbs. Personally, I think Hanna is the best option at this point in the season with all the injuries. However, I hope the coaching staff is making waves with a couple RB's to sign in Dec (juco) or Feb. (HS or prep). Agree we need someone 5'11 - 6'1 and 190 - 210 lbs with 4.4 to 4.6 speed in the forty.

They earned every yard against the bobcats. Hannah needs to make sure he holds on to the ball but looks like a very physical runner.
TheRedHead
I agree with what everyone is saying. However why don't they use that transfer kid PJ Henderson at RB They are not using him at TE. He's a 6'3' 220 Rival 2 star RB with speed and size!

Guest Hookem14
Good things will happen if Harmon gets the ball.
TBonesLU
I agree that Harmon had a great first game. He worked for every yard and when it came time to do so, he ducked his head and tried to hit a few people in his way. I like the way he runs. Hanna did a good job as well. It's nice to have them with the uncertainty of Logan and DPG. By the way, there is a video on KFDM with DPG saying that he wants to come back. I can't say I'm entirely opposed. He is definitely built but I think his natural college position is TE. He is definitely able to shed the tackle but I don't know how fast he is. p.s. Thanks for joining and posting. geezer
Tight end might be his best position but this team needs help at running back and I am taking nothing away from Harmon or Hanna. What I recognize most is that Venson is not big enough to run over anyone. While it is much improved from last year our line is not opening up the kind of holes that a Venson can rack up the yards with. Give me ten 4 yard average gains each possession and we can win no matter who plays qb.
