geezer Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 This Saturday the Lamar men and women play a double header against SFA in Nacogdoches. Women are up first at 2:00 PM playing for pride as the Lady Cards are mathematically eliminated from the SLC Tourney. The men's game follows and while it is not an absolute must win for the men versus the conference leading team, a loss will possibly make next weeks McNeese game a must win. The men are currently sitting in 5th place with a 10-8 record, but depending on just how the season finishes out and how all of the tie-breaker rules work, the men could wind up anywhere from 4th to 9th. Two wins probably places the in 6th at worst. Two losses will probably put the Cards in 8th but again not understanding the tie breaker system, they might end up in 9th. To get to 4th the Cards would need to win out while Sam closes out the season losing their remaining games. Two losses for the Cards and AMCC winning out would put the teams tied for 8th record wise and have to see how the tie breaker works. The Cards have the talent to defeat SFA Saturday, but will have to play a very solid game. Quote

geezer Posted February 29, 2020 Author Posted February 29, 2020 While it is a dissappointing season for the ladies, when you look at the size differential Lamar has played with most of the year, Coach Franklin may have done a better job than the record indicates. Quote
