NorthoftheBorder Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Billy Tubbs is in hospice care. Please join us in praying for him. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.star-telegram.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/mac-engel/article246811197.html Had the Lamar leadership had the foresight to pay Tubbs and commit to a new arena back in 1980 (a lack of foresight in the leadership has plagued LU with the exception of jimmy Simmons in my lifetime), then the entire trajectory of the LU athletic department most likely would have changed and we would most likely be a highly successful group 5 FBS conference with a nationally respected and top 25 BB program. One can only dream, but it is unquestionable that he had the BB program going that direction in 1980!! Quote
