WAC, ASUN Announce 2021 Football Partnership

Looks like a win-win. WAC seems to have their act together, at least better than the SLC.

Looks like Deion Sanders along with his Jacksonville State team are coming to Beaumont in the fall to take on Lamar.

I know this is a one year deal but I could see an advantage to continuing the challenge in both football and basketball for at least a few years into the future. In football each conference sets up a schedule where several if not all WAC teams play an equivalent number of ASUN teams each year. This could fill one or two non-conference games each year. Similar in basketball.

I agree, some of the WAC schools maybe a bit far to travel for the ASUN schools, but for the 3 East Texas schools it makes a lot of sense.

I would only play away for the 11th game if it is a FBS money game. If it is FCS, maybe a home/home arrangement, if not a home game. If D2, it has to be at home.

McNeese would be an interesting game if it could be worked out, but I would rather play Rice, North Texas, La Tech if possible and not have any D2 schools on the schedule.
