geezer Posted May 14, 2021 Author Posted May 14, 2021 No score after one inning. Trevon Michael pitching for the Cards. Quote

geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 More good Friday evening news for the baseball team as McNeese defeats Nicholls, so Lamar gets back three of the seeding points it lost last weekend. Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Game two goes to UNO 2-0. Bravo pitched a good game for Lamar just not good enough as the UNO pitcher was just a little better on the day. Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Game three scoreless after three innings. Cards have more hits but have stranded all of their runners. In other news McNeese defeated Nicholls in their second game so the loss didn't cost Lamar except that Lamar didn't gain any ground either and with just six games left Lamar still needs wins. Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 UNO gets a run in the top of the 6th inning and Lamar is unable to answer in the bottom half of the inning. After six innings UNO leads 1-0 Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Lamar gets two runs on two hits and a UNO error to take a 2-1 lead after seven innings. Lamar has gotten good starting pitching so far this weekend, the question now is can the bullpen hold the lead. Dallas comes in to pitch the 8th. Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 UNO gets a run on three hits to tie the game at two in the top of the 8th. The answer is no Dallas can't hold the lead. Now the question is can Lamar get another run facing UNO's best reliever? Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Cards go down 1,2,3 in the bottom of the 8th. Score tied 2-2. Quote
geezer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Ninth inning Dallas gets a1,2,3 inning in the top. Bottom of the ninth Quirion leads off with a double, advances to third on a ground out. UNO intentionally walk the next two batters and Cole Girard gets a base hit to win the game for the Cards. Cards win 3-2. McNeese is up 4-2 versus Nicholls in the bottom of the third. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Way to go Cardinals! Need the win tomorrow. Quote
geezer Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 McNeese was up seven runs going into the top of the ninth. They gave up four runs but won the third game of their series with Nicholls by a final of 10-7. McNeese has won the first three games of the series and with the loss Lamar is just three points back of Nicholls for the final tourney slot. Quote
geezer Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 After three innings in game four Cards are up 2-0 getting a single run in the bottom of both the first and second inning. Quote
geezer Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 Daniel Cole started the game and pitched 3 and 1/3 innings, giving up one hit in the top of the third inning. Mize comes in, in relief. Not sure if this was a plan as it didn't appear Cole was having any problems. Quote
