geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Early tipoff, with a 3:00 PM start. Utah Valley has last season's player of the year, a good post player and shot blocker. I think they may have lost a good guard which really balanced them out, but I doubt the Cards will have an answer. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 I do not have high hopes for today as Utah Valley is 12-6 on the season. Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Lamar back down to nine players available today. Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Cards stayed in the game for the first nine minutes but haven't scored in the last six minutes to fall down by fourteen at 25-11. Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Lamar down by sixteen at the half. 32-16 UVU Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Geez, I really wish I did not care about Lamar athletics right now. Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 With about fifteen minutes left in the game Lamar finally has a line-up change using three forwards and two guards. I don't think I have seen that all year. Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 At the under twelve-minute timeout the Cards are still using the three forward lineup and are holding their own actually trimming the lead to thirteen. 39-26 UVU. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Lady Cards win in double overtime 59-55. Quote
PeckEm Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Lady Cards win in double overtime 59-55. Lamar holds Utah Valley to 36% shooting and forces 20 turnovers, and LOSES by 17 ponies. We score 40 points, Brooks is an offensive mastermind!! Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 (edited) Lamar falls by seventeen 58-41, which sounds bad, but Lamar played the last fifteen minutes of the game using three forwards and two guards, which seemed better than the last several games. Harrison still tried to force his own offense in my opinion, but overall, it seemed better. Smith led Lamar in scoring with eleven. Roberts had another bad offensive performance. He has kind of been every other game. Buster did not play. Lamar was zero for nine from three-point range, shooting 28% from the field. Lamar only committed ten turnovers. I think Smith could be a good player from the wing. Lamar has forced him to play inside with not enough quality at the post. This usually gets Smith in foul trouble and takes him away from where it looks like his natural shooting range is. Edited January 22, 2022 by geezer Quote
geezer Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Lady Cards won at home in double overtime 59-55. Quote
