Lamar gets two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 5-1.

Lamar gives up a run in the top of the seventh to make the score 5-2 in favor of Lamar. ACU scored three runs in the sixth inning to take a 3-1 lead over Sam through six innings.

Cards give up two more runs in the eighth, but a great fielding play by Ruiz ended the inning with the bases loaded.

Dallas comes in to pitch the ninth.

Cards win by a final of 5-4. ACU has scored a run in the top of the 8th and is still batting with the bases loaded and two out.

LU took care of their part. Now we need ACU, to come through and beat SH.

ACU gave up three runs in the bottom of the eighth. Now tied with Sam at 4-4 heading into the ninth. Doesn't look good, except Sam will have the bottom half of the batting order up in the bottom of the ninth.

Unfortunately, today's game in Huntsville ended similar to yesterdays. Sam tied the game in their next to last at bat and won it in the last at bat. Cards wind up second in the division. Looks like Lamar will face the #3 seed from the West Division on Wednesday. Edited May 21, 2022 by geezer

Lamar finished the regular season strong. I like our chances in the WAC Tournament.

Lamar will play Seattle at approximately 4 PM PT (Arizona Local Time). Apparently neither Cal Baptist nor Dixie State were eligible for the tournament so Seattle with their 11-19 conference record gets the #3 seed. Hopefully after playing so well the last couple of weeks the Cards won't lay an egg. Depending how this tournament falls there could be a lot of trash talk on the WAC message board.
