With only stats to judge by, it doesn't appear Lamar has learned how to play defense yet.

NAU scoring fell off in the 2nd part of the first half and Lamar stretched a four-point lead into twenty over the last eight minutes. Halftime with Lamar up 57-37.

Catt is the only returning player that has seen action in the first half. Calmese a 6-2 freshman guard out of Gilbert Arizona has lit it up in the first half with 21 points.

3 players are out with injuries. McClure is redshirting with a back injury.

Cards win by forty, 116-76. Lamar finished the game with five players in double figures, a total of seven turnovers, three by the guards and four by the centers. Lamar had two players with eight rebounds and one with nine. All three of the leading rebounders also were part of the double figure gang. Calmese had a lower scoring half in the second half but finished the game with thirty-three. He was six of eight on three pointers. Granted it was against a team that Lamar should defeat soundly and if there is a complaint it will be the defense needs to improve, but the stats say this team is willing to share the ball and has some players that can score.
