Given it looks like four 16 team brackets, Lamar would be in about the middle of the field by seeding. This match will give an idea of how far the program still has to go. A 3-1 loss is still a loss, but if LSU goes deep in the tourney it will seem better. Here's hoping the Cards can replace the quality players graduating with even better ones.
