geezer Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 The Friday night game has been a pitchers dual through five innings. Still 0-0, Lamar has three more hits than UCR and have left more men on base, but haven't scored yet. Quote
geezer Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 Riverside took out their starter to start the sixth and Lamar took advantage of the change. Ellis got the start for LU and pitched 7 and a third scoreless innings for the win. Good start for the weekend. Quote
Skinny1 Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Interesting that the 1st base coach for UC-Riverside is Chan Varela, Lamar alum and former baseball player, circa 2016-2017. Varela is a California native. Quote

geezer Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 Lamar was down three going into the bottom of the third, but the offense has exploded since. Top of the ninth with Lamar up 15-3. Quote
geezer Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 Cards win game two, chance to sweep tomorrow at noon. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Lamar sweeps the series. Final today 6-2. Quote
Skinny1 Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Makes some sense in how this game got scheduled. Actually I spoke with Chan after the Sunday game and he said he had nothing to do with the scheduling. This series had been scheduled when Lamar was in the WAC and part of a WAC / Big West Conference agreement. Quote
