August 24, 20241 yr Lots of great talent! Can't wait to see them in the Red & White!!! We are definitely bringing in the best talent in the history of the program. Keep building... and let's win us a playoff game or two (or more)!
October 6, 20241 yr Lamar’s verbal commitment, Kelvin “Boosie” Washington from the Longview Lobos, had a historic game against the Rockwell Yellowjackets last night. He had 24 carries for 377 yards and 109 yards receiving. This resulted in him having 8, yes 8, total touchdowns!!! Six were rushing touchdowns with two of them being over 90 yards each. He also had 2 receiving touchdowns. I am hoping we can get him signed up.

He's special and could be a special player at Lamar.

Yep, that meant that the Sun Belt, Conference USA and AAC schools were getting involved. One this he does need to consider, Rossomando and Fleming are run first philosophy coaches. He will get his hands on the rock more than most places.

I mean that, after he had that performance, more offers than we've seen probably rolled in. While I think he'd be great in the Cardinals' offense, it's hard to not "reopen your recruitment" when the FBS coaches start calling. I doubt we'd lose him to another FCS offer with the relationship they look like they forged, but it's hard to not listen even some G5 schools start calling, let alone P4.

January 10, 20251 yr Top SWAC QB Mekhi Hagens (formerly of Arkansas-Pine Bluff) committed to the Cards! 16 TD, 6 INT’s last year

As far as I can tell, he still has not committed/signed anywhere. Maybe he is struggling with academic issues.
February 5, 20251 yr I have been following the Signing Day feed. The first 14 signees listed are from the early signing period. New signees start with Paul Omodia. I count nine new guys so far (11:15 on Wednesday). Connor Martin and Roy Jenkins are not among those.
February 5, 20251 yr Both Martin and Jenkins are signed as of 12:30 PM. Three new QBs on the list, two transfers and a freshman. Two are 6'3" so good size.

He was a DT through his Junior year... then the coaches saw something and switched him to the O-Line and he exploded. Great kid. Coachable. Great family. (all the things you hear in coachspeak but to the next level with him) Oh, and remember that, since he was a DT at Katy, his position coach is a guy who has sent a dozen guys to FBS programs and multiple to the NFL (like the Bills' Ed Oliver). He's going to be a leader on the field in the in the locker room. Don't be surprised if he's a captain his sophomore year.
