Weber State - 10  They moved up 5 spots this week

Lamar - 64   We moved down 9 spots this week after what looks like a lackluster win.

Would be a statement win for this season for LU to pull off a victory.  Weber ranked in the top 25 in Massey and both FCS polls.  I have faith that Rossomando will have them ready with a chance to win.  We continue to grow under Coach Pete, but we are headed in the right direction.

One of three SLC games this week versus the Big Sky Conference.  Lamar needs to step up and get the win as do the other SLC teams.  UIW plays MVFC Southern Illinois for the fourth game this week against perceived stronger FCS conferences.  

Looking forward to this one. Hopefully we have a good crowd and the cards show up and show out ! 

We'll learn a lot about this team this week.  First game against Texas State didn't mean too much and last week's game was sloppy but LU had the talent to win pretty easily even with all the penalties.  A big home game against a legit playoff team.  If LU is serious about making the playoffs and maybe actually getting a post season win then it's time to show everyone what they can do.

They went into both games with everyone assuming the final results were pre-determined.
This is the first REAL game.

Rosso will have them ready for this.

It's game time, let's go Cards.

Cards hold Weber St to a three and out to open the game.  Then have a nice drive that stalls out at the Weber five-yard line, settling for a field goal and three-point lead.

10-0 LU in 2nd Quarter 

 

LU special teams have sucked tonight, allowing WSU to start drives in LU territory.

Coleman intercepted and the game is now tied.

After a good start for the first quarter and a half, Lamar defense has a totally unnecessary personal foul to aid a Weber St drive that results in a field goal.  On the ensuing possession Lamar gives up a pick six touchdown that let's Weber tie up the game at 10-10 with 240 left in the half.

Tied at the half.  Possible big thing is the knee injury to Coleman before Longino came in a threw the touchdown pass for Lamar.  Watching Coleman since, the medical staff has put a knee brace on Coleman, and he is definitely limping.  Did that have anything to do with the pick six?  

Weber St takes the second half kickoff and drives for a touchdown but misses the extra point to take a 16-10 lead.  Lamar will need to respond.

Longino begins Lamar's second half at quarterback.

Longino completes a 72-yard pass and run to Damien Moore to get Lamar back the lead with nine minutes left in the third quarter.  Lamar up 17-16

 

 

Lamar misses an opportunity to extend the lead when it is unable to convert a fourth and one at the Weber three-yard line.

I hate it when they pass up 3 easy points and the other team mounts a long drive but I appreciate the aggressiveness.

Wow, LU stopped WSU on LI goal line.  LU ball and still leads by 1.

Weber returns the favor turning down the go-ahead field goal with under two minutes left in the game to go for a fourth and one at the one-yard line.  Lamar defense makes a tremendous stop.

Lamar unable to get a first down and will punt the ball back to Weber with 52 seconds left, but should get good field position.

Lamar holds on for the one-point victory as Weber St misses a potential game winning field goal.  Big win.
